Will be interesting to see what lineup the Komets field tonight in Cincinnati. Luca Caputi and Matt Firman were both injured in the second period Friday night.

The point is the komets suck & they cant win more then two in a row & if there winning or losing they suck .. there defense is the worse in the league & they have won 75% 0f there games against below .500 teams
I thought the guys skated hard last night. Cincinnati is a very good team and we were right there for most of the night. We seemed to be a little more aggressive on our PK as well and not allow them to set up. Hopefully we do this all the time now.
I have always been a big fan on Brent Henley but something is different with him this year. He doesn't seem to want any kind of contact or physical play. Don't know if he has been hurt all year or what. With his size, he should be able to be a force in the defensive zone. So what if he takes a few penalties here and there. I would rather see him get a boarding call in the corners or a roughing call for clearing the front of our net than all the hooking, and holding, and slashing penalties. He just doesn't play to his size anymore and it is very frustrating to watch.
I read that Cincinnati had about 15 players on their roster that were under contract with higher level teams. Why is there such a disparity with the amount of AHL / NHL players on ECHL rosters? With, or without, the lockout, you would think that the amount of these players per ECHL team would be pretty even. I understand at the end of the year if your AHL team doesn't make the playoffs, they can load you up with talent, but it seems like it should be a little more even during the regular season.
Go K's.
Corey Elkis to HIFK from Fort Wayne as shown on Elite Hockey Prospects 1/5/13. Not good.
I thought the Komets played well last night. Rizk continues to impress by working hard ever shift. You definitely know when he is on the ice. A couple of defensive breakdowns which has been our problem all year cost us some goals. Not sure how the first goal went in? I thought Schaus tied the man up pretty well. It was unfortunate for Giosa to fan on the puck after it came right off the post, directly infront of the net and T-Beau missing that open goal. Cous played a good game in net and hopfully that continues. I liked the communication last night from him and some of the other players as well. It was a fun game to watch. Lets steal one on the road tonight and come home and take two more from Orlando. Hopefully Caputi and Firman get in the line up soon and their injury isnt to bad. Also, Elkins signs in Finland? Is that true? Go Komets!!
The Cyclones roster has roughly 12 affiliated players on it for 2 reasons. The Cyclones have dual affiliations with both the Florida (San Antonio AHL) and Nashville (Milwaukee AHL) organizations. Due to the lockout, there are at least 2 players from each affiliate who would not be in the ECHL otherwise. Once (if) the lockout ends, the Cyclones will lose several of their players and could potentially struggle.
Whole, Cincy has dual affiliates, so that's probably why they have so many players on their roster under NHL contracts. Florida and San Jose I believe
Corey Elkins did sign with HIFK
