JM Risk and Robbie Irons have explained what is the reason why the Komets are not consistently winning at home. The are trying to hard to create the win. They need to be a little more patient and wait for the other team to make mistakes. As for lack of size, when it came time to rally a lot of smaller players appeared to move very quickly around those bigger players. The roster needs to settle down, then the deep levels of leadership (with Chaulkers return) will start to be more consistent and more patient.

If no one has the answer then it's going to be a very disappointing season.

While I can't argue with the recent success of the team, I don't think we are built for the long haul or a deep playoff run because of our lack of size. Every team in the league is going through the same thing that we are right now in regards to the revolving roster. What is very evident though is our lack of size. Every other team that I have seen us play, is far bigger than we are and every other team FINISHES THEIR CHECKS!
The most frustrating thing to me, as a fan, is watching our team consistently get physically pushed around and out-hit every home game. Last night was a perfect example of the visiting team finishing every check on each end of the ice and our forwards spending a lot of times getting crushed along the boards. Apparently I am clueless as to why our defensemen can't play a physical style of game, or why our forwards can't at least attempt to hit their defensemen. Every other team does it to us and if you watch the AHL or NHL, they all play the same way.....physical! It is beyond me why we can't do that.....especially at home. I felt that last night, we actually avoided hitting people.
I am trying to think ahead to the playoffs and if we can't finish simple body checks, the other team will easily wear us down during a playoff series.
It is just discouraging to see other teams consistently come into our building and physically dominate us.....night in and night out. Fans want to see exciting hockey. What we are seeing at home recently is the other team coming in and dictating the nature of the game on our home ice. I can't fault the hustle and the effort of our guys but our style of play and lack of physical presence comes from the expectations that are set from the guys calling the shots.
Komets fans take a lot of pride in our team and it is disheartening to see home games like we have seen this year.
