1. Colin Chaulk was on the bench from the start instead of watching the first period from the press box.
2. The Komets just rolled the lines early instead of trying to match up right away. That's what they have to do on the road and it works.
3. Their pre-game skate Saturday morning was much more intense as a way to try to get the guys into gameface/mind earlier in the day.

If Chaulk being behind the bench made that big of a difference, I think the writing is on the wall.
Sounds like there were several factors that went into this big win. The players only meeting, several players stepping up and doing what they are here to do...they were humiliated by their own display the night before and had some extra fire in them. The Komets have often bombed one game and the next night come out and obliterate the other team....so it is not all that surprising it happened again. I'm sure Chaulk helps to add some extra motivation got the guys but I don't think his extra 20 minutes was the reason they played hard that night. These guys have had some great games especially on the road..so my best guess is they were bound to have a big one at home, they were tucked from the night before, several players stepped up, and I credit the while team, and coach for this great hockey game. ...Chaulk is an asset to this team both on the ice, behind the bench and in the locker room.My opinion is Sims and Chaulk together make a great coaching team. They have each others respect and that is great for our players to have access to two talented coaches.
