Komets add Anaheim goaltender

The Komets’ NHL affiliate, the Anaheim Ducks, have reassigned goaltender Jeff Deslauriers to the Fort Wayne ECHL team.  The Komets also announced Tuesday that goaltender Marco Cousineau has been placed on 21-day injured reserve.

 Deslauriers, 28, was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft while a member of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the QMJHL.  He was selected to the 2001-02 QMJHL All-Rookie Team and was named Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Deslauriers was signed as a free agent by Anaheim July 12, 2011 and posted a 2.74 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in four games (3-1-0) during 2011-12 with the Ducks.  Deslauriers has yet to appear in a contest for Anaheim this season.  The veteran netminder has appeared in 62 career NHL games with Anaheim and Edmonton posting a 23-32-4 record, 3.24 goals-against average and .902 save percentage.

The St. Jean-Richelieu, Quebec native has also served AHL stints with Edmonton, Hamilton, Wilkes-Barre Scranton, Springfield, Oklahoma and Syracuse during his nine years as a pro.  Deslauriers has appeared in 190 AHL career games posting a record of 83-82-14 while registering a 2.89 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. 

Deslauriers has also seen action in the ECHL with Greenville appearing in 17 games (9-7-1) over two seasons (2004-05, 2005-06) registering a 2.56 goals-against average and .928 save percentage.
