The Carroll and Homestead club hockey teams played well enough this weekend to advance to next weekend's state finals at Notre Dame. Homestead finished 2-0-1 in pool play to earn a spot in the Class 4A state title game, and Carroll finished 2-0-1 to adance in Class 3A.
Homestead beat LSJ 5-0 and tied with Indianapolis Chatard 2-2 on Saturday before beating Marion 2-1 on Sunday. Carroll beat Indy South Stars Blue 4-2 and tied Evansville 5-5 on Saturday before beating Munster 7-2 on Sunday.
Leo finished 2-0-1 in Class 3A and lost out on a tiebreaker. Snider finished 2-1 and Northrop 1-2 in Class A, and Bishop Dwenger was 1-2 in Class 2A.
The opponents for the state titles games are still to be determined, but the games will start at 8 a.m. Saturday.
