"Colossal failure of everything", pretty much sums it up.
Scouting, recruiting of new talent a must. If this isn't Sims' forte, then the Komet brass need to find a person to get that done. I'm not advocating the K's to let Sims go, I'm asking them to add someone to the organization to oversee that area. It seems to me an imperative part of a successful organization. The Komets are in a league which demands good, young players. It isn't a league which allows the roster to have a bunch of "veterans". I would submit that a weakness in the organization is a proven track record of bringing that type of talent in. Oh, I know that in the past some good young players have passed through Fort Wayne. It wasn't necessarily a must, however. Now it is.
As owners of the team for over twenty years, the Frankes' must have made hundreds of contacts. Now is the time to cultivate them in terms of coaches, ex-coahes, ex-players, agents, and scouts.
What was the term used? Oh yes, be hyper- aggressive on and off the ice in terms of being the general manager and the coach.
Hope that post wasn't too long for you, Bill.

Alan, are you feeling OK?!?!?!? That was only about a third of your normal length. I'm concerned! Thanks for the donation, BTW, too! Appreciate it.

Ha ha, I feel fine Blake. As for the donation, I was happy to do it.
As for the length of my post, it was merely a response to the "Inside the zone" interview (which, by the way, may have been the best of the year).
After the season ends I will give my opinion on a lot of things. It may be a "book", or maybe I will divide things up a little in "chapters". This has been a strange season and so many things have gone astray I may need to break my posts up a tad bit. It sure was a different kind of season and I've taken notes, not only from my own thoughts, but those komet friends who call me at home with Komet discussions.
Warning for those who prefer not to read my thoughts: instead of complain about them, just skip over my name when you see it. We'll both feel better afterwards.
