They're still convinced 1 affiliation is gonna get it done. I'm not. How are we going to compete in the playoffs against teams with 2 affiliates that send their extra players down?
I can understand not wanting to get "robbed" of 2 or 3 players at once, however, if they have already sent 10-12 players to start with, just how big of a hit is that? It's not like it will happen with any regularity, maybe even at all.

With Trenton going down, seems like Philly will need an affiliate.....Komets already have the proper colors.....

Alan, I have a hunch that Houston will be getting an NHL team very shortly. Not a new franchise but an existing one. Houston is a major league city. The Aeros attendence was always good. I think this move paves the way. Might hear something after the NHL playoffs. I dont have any info but these moves dictate possibilty. Des Moines is a surprise though. Dallas had their AHL team there for a couple years. Would they be competeing with a USHL team? Peoria would have seemed to be a turn key fit.
As to Trenton, maybe Indy can get a discounted franchise fee.

Nice to hear from you, RG2. Yes, there seems to be a lot of possibilities. Maybe there is some stuff going on with Houston and an NHL franchise. I haven't heard of anythibg but mostly I was surprised by the move to Des Moines, Iowa. Des Moines seemed to be pretty well locked into junior hockey while playing down any talk of moving a pro team back.
Nothing surprises me much anymore when it comes to hockey.
Same goes for our own Fort Wayne Komets. More about that later.
