I won't say I am surprised by Gary's hiring since his name was the only one ever mentioned by the media. At first thought it was a bad idea, but after everything you've told us about Gary, I am looking forward to seeing what he can do for this team. He sounds like he is hungry to prove what he can do. I hope he has a very successful career and can turn things around and bring back the glory days for the Komets and surprise all of us fans that were initially questioning his hire.

Wanted to put this some where for Komet fans to see....Brett Smith is the first player signed by the Brampton Beast in the CHL

The Komets lost a lot of leadership in the locker room from last year. First Chaulker and then Smitty. I was hoping that Smitty would be the Komet's Captain for the 2013-14 season. Smitty will definitely be missed by my wife and I as well as many other Komet fans. He alwasys gave it his all every game he played. Best wishes Smitty on your new team.
It will be interesting to see who will step up to be the leader(s) of this years Komet's team as we look to rebuild.

I don't think anybody steps up. I think they go outside the organization looking for the next captain just like they did with Chaulk way back when.
