I hope they find it in Vegas because if not, this will be another long season....

Have watched all 3 games and in all 3 games ( IMO)we have outplayed and outskated the other team for the first 30-40 minutes. The Komets have really set the tempo. Alot of great scoring chances.
Its the last 20-30 minutes of the game where its seem they start turning turtle, get on their heels. They change to a prevent defence instead of keeping the pressure on.
I think this goes back to the coach to remedy but im sure Im stating the obvious here. The talent and skill are there. Im sure the players would be the first to tell you that all 3 games were winnable. 3 games you dont get back.

For the most part, I agree RG2. They should've won the first two. They ran right in to the ECHL leading goaltender last night. He will win a lot of games for Evansville.
Some will say the problem is that the Komets are not affiliated. Sounds logical but Gwinnett (Phoenix and Portland), Bakersfield (Edmonton and Oklahoma City) and Kalamazoo (having both Vancouver and St. Louis in the NHL with Utica and Chicago in the "A") are worse. Utah, affiliated with Anaheim and Norfolk ( last season's Komet affiliations) are 1-1-1-1.
The other independent teams are 2-2 (Colorado) and 2-3 (Las Vegas).
I still contend that this year's roster is a good one. I've said all along that it still needs to be "tweaked". I was never shy about saying that Tuzzolino and Schrock should've been cut. I believe that the K's need a good "stay at home" defenseman (maybe two) and a frontline goaltender. (I think Muse is gone for good). With my suggestion above, there should be plenty of salary cap room to accomplish it.
Will they? Don't know if they have the nerve. I think my suggestion solves a few of the problems.
Sometimes it doesn't take much. I think that, for the most part, the roster is good. I think they should've won the first two games and enough has been learned to make adjustments.

You haven't seen Follmer play yet. He's the stay-at-home defenseman.

IMO...K's appear to be out of gas when it comes down to the last 15 minutes of the 3rd period....looked that way the last two games.

I didn't see the game on Sunday so can't and won't comment. I did see the first two, and I'll chirp a little about the goaltending, especially in game 2. You can't sit on your heels at the top of the crease and skate back into the net when a man is breaking towards you, and you can't let up juicy rebounds, both of which were evident on Saturday. It started bad, got better, then got bad again. I'm guessing that is getting talked about. Reichard is better than that, and he can get the job done for the team.
Three games are not a season. Last year it was evident from the start that the Komets were slower, smaller and just not as good as the competition. That isn't true this year; that's some of the fasting, most-attacking hockey, we've seen for awhile. W's will come if confidence stays high, and we keep attacking and skating as it is evident we can do.

I was at the game in Evansville, sat very close to the bench. What I saw in the third period worried me. The talent is there..at certain times you really could see it. What I didn't like was the way the guys were laughing, interacting with the fans directly behind them and basically acting very relaxed and calm. They were down a goal in the third period...had just coughed up a 3 goal lead and ended up losing the night before...and are without a win 3 games in. Urgency, concentration, focus....wish it would have been evident. So either Gary needs to find a way to motivate them to play hard the entire game or they need to adjust their easygoing attitude. The team did look good at times...but I am concerned. Could be an easy fix..talent is there...now coach needs to tune some things up sooner rather than later.

Blake, I hope you're right. I hope Follmer is a stay-at-home defenseman. You're also right when you say we haven't seen him yet.
Saying all that, you'll pardon me if I have some doubts. Not that you'd steer us wrong, but there was supposed to be pretty good offense from some of these defensemen, too. So far not a sniff of it to talk about. Follmer may be the guy. Without him being able to play we'll never know. What's the latest on him?

WE are going to have to suffer the ups and downs alot, this team might gell, might not,> time will tel but as with new players, new coach this the unknown factor, How it will all play out if anyones guess. The one thing that I would think Ive seen so far is we need a real AHL caliber Defenseman like some of the ones we had last season, any chance we can get some helo from AHL teams without havine affiliation????
