I have to say that they ramped up the level of intensity and physicality over the last 2 home games. Still think we need a big bruiser at forward and one on defense. Offense looks like it has started to click a little bit.

I was very surprised by the work ethic of Greenville. They don't have a very good record, I believe they haven't won a game at home yet, are averaging only a little more than two goals a game, yet took the play right at the Komets (especially in the third period). All this on the road.
A win is a win, no doubt about it. It was hard not to notice the futility of the komets trying to get through the neutral zone most of the night. Pressure makes for errant passes and hesitation. Hesitation isn't good at any time and I think the Komets suffered from both throughout the game.
I think Gary Graham will work on this aspect during his week of practices. On the brighter side of things include four out of a possible four points. I think the faceoff success has improved, and I think two overtime wins help with the confidence level of the team.
Good to see Hegarty and Rizk. I was very disappointed with the Rizk decision earlier. ( I understood why he was traded, however). When you give up quality you expect quality and where would we be this weekend without Hughes?
Rumor has it of a power forward coming this way. Hopefully his presence will open up some ice for our forwards. I've got a list of six players who could go (that includes forwards AND defensemen). Still wondering why they don't make an effort to go after Costello and Kraemer. The roster is getting close.

First off, good weekend as far as picking up 4 important points... Good to see wins at home...
IMO, the two biggest problems right now are:
1. Defensive zone coverage
2. Sitting back late in games with the lead and letting teams crawl back into the game.
#1 guys are running around way too much in the Dzone. Dmen are both going for one forward and leaving guys wide open in the crease... Makarov has beeen bailing them out on most occasions; but its burning them for goals once or twice a night.
#2 Keep the foot on the peddle and and keep attacking. The other way just seems not to be working.

Blake, what are the Komets obligation when it comes to guys like King and Szylowdski? I ask because when guys start coming off IR, they are going to have to trade or release some guys.....

Kind of pointless to speculate because by the time they are ready to come off, it's likely somebody else will be ready to go on. Kind of have to play it as it comes.

looking at the stats Alan and Risk has been almost invisable with Greenville. So much so it wouldn't surprise me if they get some more players in that he would be sitting.

Ron, without knowing the situation, I doubt that they will sit Rizk. But I understand where your meaning is. He's a good player, got size and touch.
Lots of reasons or possibilities. I'm just glad his goal scoring didn't start last night.
Well Ron, what do you think? Will Lyon prove to be a guy to open up some ice for the skill guys?

Alan I think he is a much more valuable all around tough guy than Gagnon would have been. After seeing about a dozen of his fights on You Tube there will be no doubt about him being a instant crowd favorite. A diffinate in your face enforcer like McMillan ! THE LION WILL ROAR !

It's never pointless to look ahead...
It's also never pointless to try and find out what the actual obligations the Komets have for players who they were assigned who the Komets have no formal agreement with....
