The Komets have added two centers. Free agent Phil Mangan, 26, will be in the lineup tonight against Cincinnati wearing No. 94. He played two games this season with Rapid City CHL and skated stints last season in the ECHL with Stockton, South Carolina and Bakersfield.
They have also acquired center Kenton Miller from Utah of the ECHL in a trade for cash. Miller, 22, is expected to arrive in Fort Wayne and join the team on Monday. Miller appeared in six ECHL games with Utah this season (0 points. 2 penalty minutes).

Miller scored 30 goals once in the CHL. Mangan doesn't seem to have produced much offense wherever he's played. So what do you do here? Do you replace King? Do you move Vaskivuo back to wing?
Maybe the statistic I'd really be interested in is their faceoff win percentage?
I'm not sure what direction the Komets are trying to move toward. For me, a couple stay at home defensemen and a shutdown goaltender are needed most.
By the way, and I'm not ragging on all the "affiliation" people, but look at Utah's (Anaheim-Norfolk) record and all the moves the Grizzlies made yesterday (two of which were Aubin and Pelech from Cincinnati).
I'd like to know the secret of Alaska. No matter if they are affiliated or not, nor who they are affiliated with, they know how to run with the circumstances that the Komets do not. Rob Murphy seems to srike gold when he recruits.
Wow, it must be nice to be so intelligent and in tune with all the hockey operations going on around the ECHL....sure am glad we have someone like you who can tell us all about what our operations folks should be doing based on your "insights" from around the league....amazing
Thanks, who Suzie. I'll try to keep 'em coming.
Please do Alan...I enjoy reading your comments..always have. Regardless of if I agree with what you have to say. You give your thoughts and opinions and information respectfully.
Alan, there is a lot more gold in Alaska then Indiana.
