Tailing the Komets

Don't tell Larry we are doing this

If you haven't heard, Komets PA announcer Larry Schmitt had all his equipment stolen. In an effort to help him out, I am holding an auction of a signed copy of Fort Wayne Sports History. I'll sign it to whomever you want and deliver it personally if you like (probably after the snowstorm). I'll also throw in a signed copy of Homecoming Game, and I can sign that to someone else if you like and deliver that as well. All you have to do is reply here, or send me an email at bsebring@news-sentinel.com.

Larry gets all the proceeds. No, I will not dress up for the delivery. That's probably best for all concerned. Larry? Larry might dress up, but you'll have to ask him. You didn't hear it from me, but he likes that kind of stuff. Yikes! That's how rumors get started. Bidding starts at $20.

Thank you everyone for participating.

A great gesture, Blake, and I'm sure he will appreciate it! I took him over a few things today that hopefully will help him out too. I've known Larry for many a year dating back to the old Blue Line, good man...terrible that this happened, but I think he will take it in stride and not let it get him.

We ended up with a $40 bid which Larry has received.

Thank you to Blake and the winning bidder. This will help me back on the road to a fully functioning dj/karaoke business again. And thanks to all of you for your concern and cards and gifts. It was a heck of a blow, but I will recover and  am so very grateful to the best fans in all of hockey. Komet Hockey is family and you have proven it once again and that is an awesome thing. ~Larry Schmitt
