Mike, I hope you know me well enough to know that I always tell what I know and can prove to be true. I also won't do it with unnamed sources, because I simply don't think that's fair. It's a hockey team, not a national security issue. If people want to say something, they ought to be grown up enough to do it under their own name.
I may never have all the information to be able to tell this entire story, but the story I'm going to tell is one of the strangest I've seen in a long time. That said, it might just confuse the issue even more.
And I really hope you don't leave.
Fair enough Blake. You know me fairly well also. I knew these guys quit at 11:00 am this morning in my office in Mississauga. I waited to see how long it would take for the story to get around.
The BS about they didn't fit in and the rest is really getting old , don't you think? Are people really that naive to think that this is two guys that just pulled the sail for no reason?
Now, a flash, a great guy and a good friend of mine did a little work in your City. Apparently, it wasn't enough and he was forced to seek other opportunities. I have only commented where I believe the current "management" may have made a small mistake. By and large I have been supportive of the team because I am a Komet fan. I wear my (paid for) stuff proudly.
However, let's get real here, this is not another "they didn't fit in scenario". These guys quit, like everyone who has had dog dirt working conditions and were mad as H E double hockey sticks. I will bet there are a few accountants or other professionals out there that walked on their "team" along the way also. Do I condone it? No. And the other players on the team are seeing an opportunity right now. The same as when the accountants out there left their posts.
You can't just turn your backs on this and say "good riddance"
Yes, we beat the 17th or fwhatever place team tonight, with the guys that buy into the program. But who are the guys that will buy into the program next week?
Blake, no one wants to hear what a life long player, fan, promoter and lover of this sport has to say, unless it is exactly what they think.
