``I didn't have a great view of it. He went and was playing a puck in an awkward situation behind the net. The Kalamazoo player (Chris Lawrence) cross checks him in the back of the shoulder blades, and he went down. I don't know what is wrong with him. He has some sensations and some weird feelings going on, and the doctors here wanted to play it safe. We won't know more until tomorrow.''
``The ref was standing right there and I don't know why he didn't feel he needed to make a call. The guy cross checked him. He came over and gave an explanation to Auger and I, and I'm still not sure why he didn't make a call. We're going to review it for sure.''
I asked Gary if he didn't have the Komets retaliate, possibly because it was a one-goal game? ``That's it, exactly,'' he said.
``We'll take a look at it and send it into the league and see what they say.''

2 games 2 goalies ran.....1 goal game or not something should have been done. Im.not a Graham basher but come on.....
The league is going to tell us what we already know. The Komets are a bunch of sissies.
I'm sure nothing will happen. I don't think this team has the brains or the guts.
Sorry I don't buy the 1-0 game argument besides players don't think that way because they are playing in the "moment". Saying you are going to do something "the next game" is weak also besides it is done and over with. Like last night when Schrock thought it was the appropriate time in a tight game to have his fight I don't think he was thinking about the "what if's". Secondly, how many guys talked about that being a pivotal moment in that game? Well tonight perhaps someone stepping up and addressing the issue would have been another pivotal moment making a statement about running our goalies causing injury. In many ways it's time for Pepin, Southorn, and Gates to start taking on some of those responsibilities rather than looking for #79 to do that work..
IMHO, our goalie got ran because nobody did anything the last time.
And Bronsin....our goalies will continue to get ran, because these guys don't stand up for eachother. The same reason Marino takes a beating every game.
I stood at Meijer yesterday and watched Fletcher stocking bread, thinking to myself...if we had one player with his heart, somebody would've been held accountable the first time our goalie got ran.
Amen! Bring back Fletcher or even Smithy from last year. Either one of those two would have taken care of business right away.
Have to say...
Whether or not I see some heart and grit today...
...will determine how many more tickets I buy this season.
Time to step up!
I'm right there with 'ya.
Ivan DeJesus says the the time for fighting "is over, done." He says, statistically, that fighting is down all around professional hockey. Well, I don't have the statistics to deny or confirm his notion, so I will defer to his wisdom. Yet I know this: There is a TIME to fight and the Komets reached that time with Makarov. Now with Meisner we have reached the point where fighting may not be enough, it may take a sustained effort to fight and to retaliate. A lesson to Kalamazoo ( and the league) needs to be sent without exception or doubt.
It's a good thing today is the last game for a while. Losing a goal tender a game is unsustainable, unhealthy, unbelievable, unreal, unacceptable, and unequaled in all my days as a Komet follower.
We don't make a stand tonight...
...time to switch out Guns & Roses for Kenny Rogers...
