Wow, terrible call on a no-call play....if you call that, then you should have called diving.....nuff said....sad.

I don't blame Coach Graham for being upset. Compared to the things he was letting go, this "call" was surprising. But, can't blame the refs. Scoring only one goal will not win many games.
Maybe the Komets should concentrate more on getting some scorers (instead of having to play a defenseman up front). As it stands now, and in my opinion, they have one complete line AND Embach. Until somebody takes charge, this is the way the 2013-2014 version of the Fort Wayne Komets will be.
(If you like statistics, take a look at the stats for Evansville and Fort Wayne. Comparing them you will find that the "goals against" is very close, but the "goals for" leaves a lot to be desired.) ( Taking it even further, compare the goals allowed by the Komets to everyone else in the CONFERENCE).
P.S. Not sure why Bret Smith was here, but you'd think he'd have better places to be than to watch the Komets, on the eve of a major winter storm.

I'm not sure if this is unusual or not. But, looking up on the ECHL game summary sheet of last nights' game, I find that five komets finished with a +1. No one finished in the minus. Five Icemen finished with a -1 and no one finished in the plus column. Icemen, as we all know, won the game 2-1.

Allen, you only get a plus or minus when both teams are at equal strength. Evansville scored both of their goals on the power play so no plus was given to the Evansville players or a minus to the Ks players. When the Ks scored the teams were at equal strength so the Ks players on the ice got a plus and the Evansville players on the ice got a minus. There is one exception if you score a short handed goal your players get a plus and the other teams players get a minus. I hope this helps you understand the plus minus system.
Knowing this lets take a look at Mickey Lang as Komet player, 17 goals and 9 assist for 26 points and was -6. Lang had 5 power play goals. Lets just say he had 4 power play assist, that would make 9 points that do not count on the +- number. Lang had 2 short handed goals as well. So what that tells us is that if you look at all the goals Lang scored (12) when it was even strength or short, he was on the ice 6 more times or 18 goals against when the other team scored. Looking at that you see that even with all of his power play goals (5) included Lang was still on the ice when the other team scored more than a his goal total. Just an observation of the league leading goal scorer.

One thing on the last penalty...if Coyle would have followed him into the corner in the first place, instead of coasting and watching him go by, he wouldn't have been chasing him up ice and had to have taken a whack at him. Put yourself into a position to let the ref make a bad call...and they will.
Biggest thing...we...CONTINUE...to let Krug maul and cheap shot our scorers game after game and year after year. AND DO NOTHING ABOUT HIM!
Note to the "C"...part of your job, is to DEAL with him...EVERY game! Or, do likewise...Langlois doesn't score twice while knocked on HIS ass!
