ECHL transaction page says he was "traded" to Fort Wayne. Does anyone know for whom or for what?
He's a center, I believe. Played 9 games for South Carolina.
I'm glad the hierarchy decided they needed to do something.
My thought is that Will had no chance on those first period chances. In all the years I've seen Komet hockey I'm having a hard time trying to recall a team that gives up so many odd man rushes. Lots of it (but not totally) has to do with the D-men.
This team falls behind 2-0, then 3-1, fights back to tie the game at 4 with a few minutes to go and someone (was it Muers?) takes a penalty. "Chippiness" has its place, but after the start they fought through, a "standings" point was just thrown away.
I'm tempted to blame the rough start on the fact of a 5 1/2 hour bus trip. Tough to get going sometimes, especially when they could have traveled the day before. But it is what it is and if I begin to question things, I'm told to R-E-L-A-X. Well since that comment, they've gone 3-3-1. (lost 1/3 of the games for the season in the last seven games played!
Not sure why Texas hasn't sent Faille back. Not sure if we will see Nagle again.
I have an opinion on what I would do with the goaltending, but I know I've already stretched the patience of some. Hint: do you feel confident in Bartkus as your backup for the near future? Me neither.
So what's going on now? Both Frazee and Meurs have been placed on reserve. Replaced by Bushbacher and Lacasse.
Does anyone else get that uncomfortable "feeling"?
Obviously Gary has benched them for taking such stupid penalties in the third period last night. The Meurs thing has been coming for a while because he's been doing it frequently.
Alan, again, I am in agreement with you. Based on yours and Blake's comments, I guess Will is not to blame....I was going off of Shane's comments during the game.
Meurs IMO has taken many chippy penalities....seems he and Beaupre I believe when they first came here took many penalties...seems Meurs has not learned.
Not sure I understand Frazee...he always seems to be hustling.
No Alan I would not want Bartkus as my backup.
Frazee took the penalty that put them down 5-on-3 in the third with a totally unnecessary slash at the blue line. You just can't do that.
I know this is a hockey blog, but growing up in Chicago, going to Cubs games when you could walk in for 75cents and sit with Harry Carry braodcasting from center field, I will miss Ernie Banks who I saw play in the 60s and 70s. We need his lets play two attitude to rube off on the K's...bless you Ernie.
I sit where I can hear and see our bench during home games. Meurs has a terrible temper. He rarely comes off the ice without violently slamming the door. Even without looking, we know when he has left the ice. I honestly think his inability to control his temper is the factor that is holding him back. Taking stupid penalties seems to be proof of this.
