Tailing the Komets

Here's how it went down

In the third period trailing 3-1. First, Will Lacasse scored from long range with Brock Higgs in front

Then Christian Ouellet scored on a deflection off a Drew Daniels shot.

And then Mathew Pistilli scored the game-winner from right out front and Branden Komm had no choice. How well did Komm play tonight?

Komm is in desperate need of an AHL look after tonite.  Besides that, all the years of IHL, UHL, IHL2.0, CHL, and now ECHL.  It seems like visiting goaltenders have career nights vs us.  Or their peformance is where it takes the kitchen sink thrown at them for us to win.  Goalies such as Waite, Lamothe, Soucy, Sarjeant, Best, Fernandez, Lalime, Dimaline, Diagle, Alban, Martin in numerous leagues,  and several other one time shows would be just unstoppable.  Good years.

Good memory. Effinger, Nolan, Sterling. I was always impressed with the goaltending in IHL2.

i thought komm played well but nothing spectacular.  most of the 50 shots were soft but when the komets decided to play late in the third period, kom couldnt stop anything.

Any goalie will look good when almost every shot comes from around the perimeter. Only at the end when a few of the boys made an effort to get to the net did good things happen. It was no coincidence the first two goals were from D-men.

It seemed to me the scorekeeper assigning FW SOG was a little softer than generally the case.

I agree with the comments that Komm played well, but not was not sepctacular.  The Komets plethora of shots from near the blue line in the first two periods were usually fairly routine and not that hard to stop.  The Komets tend to telegraph the shots that are coming.  With no effective screen and a two second wind up and delivery time on slap shots, the goalie has a lot of time to get a track on the incoming puck.  I'd really like to see wrist shots make a comeback.  Cody Sol does have a wicked slapshot though when he puts it on goal.
