Heard excited about coming back

Terrific news!

You've got to "love" the attitude he's coming back with.

Many people may miss Petryk.  But without him being sent back means that at least one more player ( a player who has played here for most of the season) will be staying.   Without double checking, I would think that only Clarke joined the team late.  Even so he is a very familiar player to the team and fans.

I haven't kept up with the roster numbers but I suppose one player will have to get released.  It's the one thing I dislike about ECHL playoff time.  Players who got you this far sometimes have to be let go because of guys getting sent down.

So here is a question.  Everyone knows that Embach-Faille-Szydlowski will remain as a line.  I am thinking that Perlini-Crowder-Pistilli will also.

Who do you match up with Heard?  Does this knock Schrock off a regular line back to being the 10th forward?

The way I read the playoff roster rules, nobody would have to be released.  They can carry the full 23 as long as the 3 eligible players are made available before the conference finals.

No one will have to be released.  I see Heard playing with Pistilli and Crowder.

OK, great.  No one has to be released.

I'm assuming that everyone agrees that Embach-Faille-Szydlowski will stay together...and if Coach Graham reunites Heard with Crowder and Pistilli, who would you put together for the third line?

Meurs-Perlini-Lowry-Severyn-Ouellet-Clarke-and Schrock are the choices.

Do you concentrate just on defensive ability?  Or speed? Or do you try to put together a line that can score?

Who would be your 10th forward?

No one is correct or incorrect, just kind of interested in the thoughts.

I think I'd go with a "checking" or "third" line of Severyn-Lowry-Perlini.  My 10th forward would be Meurs..  It has some speed, experience, and two centers for faceoffs.

I just dont know where to put him(Heard).  I have to give credit to Brett Perlini. He looks better then he has all year. He is skating harder and with more grit ( you wonder where this was with alot of the guys during the year)  Dont like taking Brett out of the lineup.  This is a tough one

My first though would be to put Heard on the Crowder - Pistelli line... but that line is playing really well with Perlini on it and I wouldn't want to upset the chemistry there. So here are my arm chair coaching lines.

Syzd - Faille - Embach

Pistelli - Crowder - Perlini

Heard - Lowry - Meurs

Schrock

I'm tentativley putting Heard on the third line for a few reasons. First, he was defensively responsible when he was here earlier in the season. Second, he is fast and catch up on a back check if needed. Third, it adds a legitimate scoring threat to the third line. Fourth, The combined speed with either Meurs or Schrock will be hard to contain. Finally, He isn't afraid to play the physical aspect of the game.

WF  you arm-chaired that well and gave good reasons.  I would like to see that also.  But then again,...... I like Severyn's hustle right now. Hate not dressing him either. He had a great shot in the second period that clanked off the post. Put the C on Martin and maybe sit Schrock for a game?

Lots of options. Tough calls for Coach
