I would have to think Roman is the #1 guy. Pat has sat so much the 2nd half of season in the AHL.
He got bombed in his last AHL game and last night. Who plays tonight? I think Roman........?

Lake Erie has 10 d men.( they had 11) Beaupre has not been playing. Now would be a good time to send him down.

Interesting development with Krug he must of had been playing with a significant injury to fail a physical. Could he be re activated now that Leach is out?? Whatever happens I admired the type of game Matt played and his willingness to step up for teammates. Not everyone is willing to do the dirty work!

Unless Pistilli returns and 2nd line plays better, this team is toast. I enjoyed the season tremendously but I think it's over. We haven't played well for at least 10 games.

As much promise of a physical team that will stand up and be built for a long playoff run that we get each summer, we sure seem to always get pushed around by the end of the season. Now we cut the only player on the team who consistently played with an edge, stood up when necessary, and seemed to be getting better with every week. Not sure I understand any of that.
Then to lose like we did last night? Where is the leadership? Where is the physicality? Where is the coaching? Where were the in-game adjustments? With our talent.........to lose like that? (after losing to Indy earlier in the week?)
We have the talent, no doubt. What we lack is the size and physicallity to wear a team down in the playoffs. You can be sure that K-zoo will hit us every chance they get, crash the net, and pressure the puck all over the ice.
Hopefully we have just been playing possum and making sure we are rested and healthy. Oops.....that strategy didn't work out to well for our suddenly weakened defense.
Well, at least we have home ice advantage and should come out physical, hungry, and dominate in our own building. Right?

Let me guess because schrock is sitting we have no leadership? Our leadership is a joke top down we just have a ton of skill... Tonight's game has the making of a lot of boos by the crowd.. we should have cut Sol not Krug. Cracks me up to hear others during game talk about him like he's great. He is our worst D man hands down. Always out of position. Komets need a reality check and they got one. I think tonight's game in regards to hustle, attitude, and heart will determined what kinda true team we have and if we will be watching the 2nd round from our phones komet-less

No one would deny that the Komets have talent. What they have lacked is the drive to play 60 minutes of hockey in a determined "this is our game, and we aren't going to let you have it" style. There is no team take no prisoners attitude. No step on their throat mentality. Unfortunately for them, the playoffs demand this. Even if the Komets play well tonight, going up against a gritty, rough, resolute Kalamazoo team for seven games is going to be eye opening and exceedingly difficult for everyone.

He's on IR for 21 days, and we'll have to see if he's on the playoff roster when it is released on Monday.

I would like to make sure that we all remember, in our thoughts and prayers, to hold high, both Joey Leach and Matt Krug.
Wanting and wishing a team would win can be pretty low when considering the cruel alternatives that could be facing both players. I'm hoping to find that the injury to Leach will be one that can heal without any lasting effects. I'm worried about Krug's condition that would make him fail a physical after playing basically a whole season. Whatever that has been discovered, I hope can and will be something that can be treated medically so he can continue with his hockey future.
One other thing. Today is the last opportunity to help the Community Harvest Food Bank.
If possible, let's help others that may not be so fortunate.

Hopefully Leach will be able to return to playing, of course not this season, but next year. As for Krug highly doubt he will be with the K's anymore. I take from some of the comments this was not a very pleasant parting of ways. I respected the way Krug played the game and his unselfishness in terms of being there to stand up for his teammates. Things for this club over the last 10 to 15 games has really gone south after a year where everything seem to go right.
