They need to bench Embach. He has not done anything this entire series but make mistakes. It was pretty obvious who the referee wanted to win that game.

Very interesting info on the refs and their supervisors. I wonder how he would have been coached after last night's performance??? It's so hard for both teams to know how the game will be called when the ref has no idea what's going on. On one shift there his hard hitting and some slashing by both sides and nothing gets called. The next someone skates by the goalie and he gets a slashing call. It was horrendous both ways...not what you want for a tough fought playoff game.

Well, since Gary Graham (earlier in the week) was inquiring why folks weren't asking about the Komets and how they were going to "come out" for game 3 (instead of Kalamazoo), the timing is perfect for game 5. How will the Komets respond to a defeat in the series, on the road?
(Only MY armchair quarterbacking here). I would play Pat Nagle in goal. Nothing at all against Roman Will (he's been remarkable), but it's time now to get Nagle back into the flow. He was beaten pretty badly last time, and I would think his competitive nature would make him a good pick. (Remember how Nick Boucher always played a strong game after a weak one)?
I would sit Ian Barteaux and play Conner Bucera. Barteaux's penalty was inexcusible last night showing very little thought process for the situation. If Bucera(sp?) is worse than Barteaux, then tonight is the night to show it. If he is solid, then you have a young, well rested player who only has to play his man and his position.
Faille and Heard are the best players on the ice (that's counting both teams, folks).
The Komets have had plenty of chances to score. Mostly they get snuffed up by Martin, but how many chances have we seen go by the board because of too many (or just plainly bad) passes?
Bootland said it best when he commented that they just had to get pucks to the net and players there also! So do the Komets. Graham calls it the "greasy" areas. He's right, but the K's only seem to have a few willing to do that.
Not much happening on the "third" line. Maybe its time to give Clarke and Ouellet a chance with their fresh legs and experience. I'm thinking it may be time to "rest" Schrock and Severyn.
None of this will probably happen, but I would suggest the timing is perfect. Every game is an elimination game for kalanazoo so why not try it? Even with a loss the series comes back to Fort Wayne up by one with the next two at home.
The Komets got outplayed last night and still were in the game. Let's give some others a chance to show up and play.

The same thing that plagued the Komets the last 4 weeks of the season killed them tonight. Overpassing on odd-man rushes and undisciplined retailiation penalties. Its not the sky is falling for the Komets, however. We are up 3-1 in the series and the K-wings gave us their absolute best punch tonight. We only lost by one and had a lead in the game. I don't think any team can play their complete best 2 nights in a row at this level. That being said I wouldn't do any knee jerk reactions and change too much, such as switching from Roman to Pat. I also would not put Ouellet in the game tonight as he is known for his retailitory penalties. I would maybe however swap Clarke for Lowry and give him a shot on a line with Meurs and Severyn. 2 speed wings with a good possession center seems to be a formula the Komets have used in the past(see any team Chaulk was on during the championship years).

I'd suggest resting Shrock for the rest of the playoffs and then release him.

I have been consistent all year with posts regarding my opinion of Schrock. Check back to preseason posts for substantiation. The outcome of any game has no relationship with my opinion that his veteran spot on the roster would be far better served with someone else. As has been said on numerous occasions he wouldn't be here if it were not for his Ft. Wayne roots.

You are correct Hit the post. However, ole boy still gets it done on the PK mucking it up and killing time 1 on 3 in the kzoo zone. He isn't Crosby or Ovechkin wrapping their magic tape over solid gold, but is a leader of heart and will, character of which can not be taught. He is living the dream and doing it in a way only one player with his talent can do it as, as you will admit, call him Captain Kaleigh Schrock.

Cody was another player that stood out. he was in K-Zoo's head, even the fans think he is a goon. how funny is that.
