Tailing the Komets

01-the-john-anderson-game

We're coming up on May 17, 1991 when 01-the-john-anderson-game was played. Here's Kent Hormann and Mike Butters on the TV call from that night thanks to Dave Longsworth.

That was great, thanks. I love the part at the end when Chase is calling Fletcher names and then Fletcher calls him a -----. This is not a game for the politically correct. I just talked to Brian McKey in the lounge two weeks ago about the old days. This was the pinnacle of the Komets for me.

Many talk about 92-93 but to me, 90-91 was the most fun season ever for the k's. The unity among the fans, players, and owners was something magical that can never be dupliated. I still remember it like it was yesterday. The memories are endless regarding the 90-91 season. Long live the Vagabond Boys, the 90-91 Komets.

Thanks Tim. Yeah I dont make it out there much anymore. I always watch you and Randy though. I always enjoy listening to you....some of my old vhs games from 90-91 are the best...john anderson game, Elvis's debut, the Killer Rules banner, the frizbee game when 5000 frizbees were on the ice, twisters and village peoples debut...Remember that line of Loach, Anderson, and Boudreau ? Wow !! Cant believe it has been 20 years.

Yes Andy. Harkins is not aging along with me i guess. It is nice you still watch us still. Of all the things here in the Fort the things i will miss are doing the games and chatting with the fans. The Frankes have been fantastic to work with! They are down to earth good people. Section "one" guys were a joy to know. The "Ice Patrol" was great as Mightbite well knows! Got a feeling this Komets playoff run may hold very special memories too. We shall see. Do not really care who we play as long as we get each series played with intensity. Woul love to see Quad City stick it to Colorado however!!
