Good Luck Klempa

That sucks about KLempa. I though he was great for the team. Do you know why the komets waived him? Was it because of money? Oh wait, the frankes don't need to worry about money, they have enough. Bt Anways, do you know why?

thats stupid to put klempa on waiver! The vetrans are the people they need to watch. Theyall have full time jobs out side of hockey. I mean we need the young guys cause they are fast. Yes they might not have all the skill that the youngsters don't have. But Klempa could really do something good for us in the future.

I'm not surprised about Klempa. He tried real hard and he always hustled, but when we need forwards to score goals, he was going to go. By the way, Varone may be next.

I think this was a smart move. As Alan said, we need forwards to score goals. I also think Varone may be next to go.

If Varone is healed up you might get suprised. Rick is a gamer when healthy.

JungleMonkey is suckerpunching the first fair-weather pretty boy who pays for a beer with a credit card and holds up the entire line tonight.. I HATE sellouts! Especially NYE.. they all show up to drink and act like idiots. Nevermind the fact that there is a hockey game going on..

Klempa was an obvious choice. Over his last eight games, 0 goals, minus-7, only 16 shots. If he's not scoring, what's he adding?

Yeah, I had a feeling he might be a marked man. I hope he can get a chance somewhere else, a fresh start and all of that.

I liked Klempa. He was speedy and showed some spirit. I too wish him well. Blake is right though in his observation. However, since very few people are really contributing right now, I think that an important question should be who do we mandatorily keep if push comes to shove in trying to save the team's current season? I think that everyone can already see the handwriting on the wall for next season.

I hope we win tonight so we don't have to hear from the negative nellies!

A win a day keeps nellie away

Negative or observant? I just hope for wins, period. I used to go to &ome games fully expecting big wins, now I just hope for decent effort.

Tied at 1 after 1. Guys look to be playing harder so far. Good crowd tonight.

It kills me Burgee...anytime someone posts something "negative" about the Komets you call us negative nellies. Get the blinders off. Imagine the Komets tonight putting in a decent effort and getting the win. Frozen water is right- its called being observant.

Frozen you were not at the game? It was a beat down pure and simple. The veterans played well and it was the old Komets again. I think they've turned the corner. Great play all around. So this goes to all negative posters. Just stop. Al was not worried because he knew this day would come. Although I will say the ice was terrible and Martin looked awful in goal

Speaking of Martin, what was that bit when he held up his glove to deflect a puck that was going high anyway and... did he just cause it to bounce into the net instead? I seem to recall reading about that happening in the NHL recently too. Was it Luongo? Not sure, but pretty bizarre regardless.

I couldn't tell from my angle. Right now Huk is hot and the Ks are getting the bounces. Last night in Dayton, the Gems' first two shots hit the crossbar. Tonight Leo's shot nailed the crossbar and fell right onto PC's stick.

Fell right onto PC's stick, eh? Okay... I'll resist the urge to insert a lewd comment here, but you owe me BIG TIME. ;) LOL.

super fan what was our record the last two years at this point in the season?? i think the facts should quiet a few of the negative nellies. constructive criticisim is one thing but a constant spewing of complaining is another. im one who will the first to get on here and complain about this and that but i try to be positive in more comments cause i understand what goes on off the ice and at practice and it has a lot of bearing on things that people just dont understand sometimes. good effort tonight from the ks and nice to see a big d man actually drop the gloves for a change!

G_Hockey: Yes i was at the game. That's why i said tied at 1 after 1 and that the guys look to be playing harder. Which part of that did you read that sent the message to you that I wasnt there?

In any event, the Komets looked good tonight. Instead of a negative nellie, ill be a positive patsy. Not for noghing, but those who came on and acted likd prophets predicting the team would step up were pretty much playing the odds... New Years game + crowd of 10,000 has almost always = victory. I hope this is all they needed. I guess we'll find out at the next Wednesday game when there are under 5,000 people there.

Go Komets!

Puck Bunny
Fri, 01/01/2010 - 2:21pm

is there any place online or otherwise that you can "re-watch" a game ???

Steve
Fri, 01/01/2010 - 3:51pm

Puck Bunny, not online but Tim Hoke (a participant here) and Randy Markum (I probably butchered the spellings) tape the games for Public Access TV. Verizon broadcasts them on channel 25 at 8:00 PM Wednesdays and I think noon Thursdays. I don't know what Comcast's channel or schedule is.

Wendy also does an interview between 1st and 2nd period that is part of the re-broadcast.

PuckBunny and Steve....Comcast's channel is 55....not sure the air times for the games, either, but I hope that at least helps you find the right place to look!

Tim Hoke

Thanks Steve and Blueline. Comcast 55 and Verizon 25 every wednesday at 8 pm and thursday at noon. This is I and Randy Marcoms 21st season doing this gig. WE along with Otto and Wendy bring this only for the fans. 21 alive uses our tapes for their on air highlights. hope this helps you out puck bunny. If you have any questions you may email me at Hockeyhokey@yahoo.com HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL YOU KOMETS FANS!!!!!!!!

Steve
Fri, 01/01/2010 - 9:55pm

21 years? I thought it was a tad longer. You guys do a great job and I'm glad you do it. I have several games taped over the years for various reasons, including a "Fan in the Stands" interview of myself from probably 16 or 17 years ago.

BTW, I am the guy who was in the suite right below you on New Years Eve and asked you to get Randy's attention for me. And no, that's not my regular season ticket, it was a gift for the evening from a close friend.

Is that when they used to do them? Wow, that has been a while. And thanks for mentioning me, Steve. I get left out a lot. LOL. One recent broadcast, Randi said something about "both of us" before changing it to "all three of us". That made me smile for a moment until I realized he was talking about Otto. D'oh! :S

But hey, you are all leaving out the Thursday at 4 AM rebroadcast. Night owl that I am, that's when I've been catching a lot of the shows these days.

Tim Hoke
Sat, 01/02/2010 - 1:23pm

Thanks Steve I wondered if you made the big bucks for the suites! LOL. Thursday ay 4 am hmmmmmmmmmmmm I just learned something Wendy thanks. Do you ever sleep girl??? Oh by the way Randy spells his name with a y now. Something about not sounding like a girly man! We started the broadcasts in 1989 when Welker owned the team.
