Story on Kevin Bertram and what he went through last weekend can be read here.
Kevin is what is classified as among the "Few Good Men". Men who are not afraid to fight and die. Men who would risk their very life for you or your children. We call them "Firemen". Trust me they don't think twice about rushing into burning buildings. There is no way a few bruises are going to stop him at least not for very long. Firemen do what they do because they live it and love it. Real honest to God heroes! I am proud to not only know them but to have work with many of them. Great human beings one and all! Fort Wayne is lucky to not only have him as a Komet but as a Fireman.
The man is incredible. Between playing hockey and still being an active duty Firefighter with FWFD. I wish that I had half of the energy and strength that he has.
Keep up the good work, Kevin and thanks for helping to keep our community a safe place to live and for your hustle on the ice.
i agree!!! and let me add this....both his jobs are very physical and demanding, the man has to be sore from the time the season starts throu June atleast, with no time to rest. and lets not forget the man also played the last 2 or 3 games of the playoffs last season with seperated ribs.OUCH! keep up the hard work and dedication.
