This just goes to show you if you are going to screw up, go 110% and make it count. If haun would have connected a haymaker with that stick I don't think any of us would be upset with the ruling.
Gosh I hate to go here.....I don't want to at all. But doesn't the reactions by these 2 men sound funny to any of you??? They normally stick-up for their players. Not in this case. No one here said that Haun's teammates left him hung out ot dry. Sims and Franke are throwing Tim under the bus slightly here, aren't they??? Haun took alot of cheapies over the past 10+ games from the opposition and his team did nothing to back him up. They let him take a beating, and Tim went out there, played every night, played well 9 times out of 10, his stats back this up, and gave his team a chance to win, and his teammates aren't exactly lighting up the scoreboard right now. In fact, if he let up more than 1 goal, it usually meant he was going to lose. And his teammates didn't protect him either.
Do all these people want Tim gone??? And does this mean the road is being paved for Tyler Sims to be back?

Not wanting to be a stick in the mud..or the eye but taking the fury of the game out of it for a minute I am glad Haun missed. If he connected and ended a players career ( or Lord Stanley forbid worse...), his career might well be over. He is not Todd Bertuzzi or Donald Brashear. There might very well not be a second chance for him and at the minor league level there have been cases of criminal prosecution for offenses that are deemed grossly out of bounds.
The suspension is deserved. We can all debate the total lack of consistency with which suspensions are handed out in all sports at all levels because it is something that has been a problem as long as sports have been around.
Until they come out with flat penalties for different situations there will always be suspensions that we believe are too long/short.
So let's wait and see if they bring back Nathan Grobbins,r perhaps the great Ian Olsen or one of the Macdonald brothers who weren't brothers to be the next emergency backup on the reunion tour ;)

Off topic; but the Icehawks won thier 6th game in a row last night thrashing the Generals 6-1... And they played with 4 of thier best players out of the lineup... As it stands we are 10 pts behind them with 3 games in hand... This could get ugly fast if the K's dont right the ship!

Don't worry people- the Komets are fine! Isn't that what management and reporters want us to think? The ship is sinking quick. We aren't tough, our vets aren't playing well, and we have no scoring. Pretty tough to win unless we shut everybody out each night.

all komet fans are spoiled. its hard enough to win a championship and we were able to win two in a row and are looking for a threepeat. weve hit a snag i n the road and everyone is jumping ship. give them some time and we will see what happens. we arent too far out of first and at least we arent in the lower part of the standings. are we playng well? no do the vets need to step up? yes is it ok to vent frustrations? yes but its not time to panic, you all act like the f rankes and sims are rookies and dont know how to handle bad times! and think of this, maybe this just isnt gonna be our year! heaven forbid if we dont finish first!

Chuckitt - You should try out for the team since you are prepared to be happy with our past two cups and are ok with accepting not being good enough this year. What number do you want? Just make sure they get your info in a few nights in advance so if they spell your name wrong on your jersey, they have time to fix it. You'll fit in well with the team as it is right now. I didn't realize complacency was so contagious that it's even seeping into the stands...
