Tailing the Komets

Alex Kangas update

There's not much of one yet, and we're not sure if that's good or bad news. This afternoon's X-ray didn't show anything, so he's going to have an MRI sometime over the next two days.

Tyler Sims is backing up Nick Boucher tonight and will be at practice the rest of the week, but the Komets are also working on signing another full-time goaltender. Tyler has not played competitively since training camp.

``Hopefully we'll know in the next 24-to-48 hours who is coming in,'' General Manager David Franke said. ``I'm working on a couple of things right now. We want to make sure we make the right move here and have somebody capable and battle-tested because they are gonig to get an opportunity to play. Nick can't play all the games, and we know that.''

Franke declined to name which goaltenders he is in
