Assistant coaches full salary count against the cap; average salary I'd say is $500-$600. Housing is provided along with insurance and they get (I think, not sure) $25 per diem on game days.

Every one of the defensemen want to play with Bert, and they usually have their best stats when they do. They say they know where he's going to be, he's a big target for passing and all they have to do is clean up the puck after he knocks it away from someone. It also seems to me that whenever someone has a really bad game, the next night they are paired with Bert and things settle down.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see the salary cap drop next year to around $11,000 per week. Maybe even $10,000.

Kind of confused, Blake. Are you saying that two more players may be added to the K's sometime before the end of January? if so, does that number include Woods? Just a comment. After giving it some thought, maybe what this team needs is a slick, playmaking center to give guys like O'Conner and Chewy better chances. Taking nothing away from Schrock, but everyone plays better with Chaulk.
