Do the Komets broadcast on CHL-TV? If so, then I'm going to watch them play on there, be it computer, phone, tablet, whatever. It'll be cheaper than going to a game.

I've heard many complaints from the folks using CHL TV that there are constant commercials and the picture goes out a great deal. Maybe giving up the expensive concessions and/or parking across the street would help ease the extra $2 ticket cost for you. Good luck.

HH Gregg already uses the police to watch their parking lot, it's only a matter of time until other businesses do the same. I'd rather pay $4.00 than the cost of a parking ticket and or towing fees.

GM---
The police do not issue parking tickets on "Private Property" except in handicap slots (if they are properly marked)
It must be posted by the business owners "No Parking"
Unauthorized vehicles towed at the owners exspense.
The the property owners have them towed not the Police Dept. Don't mean to correct you just want it to be properly understood. The PD get blamed enough when it is not their doing!

Is every thread going to be turned by someone complaining about the costs of going to an optional recreational event?

Can't we at least complain about something that isn't optional? Like the increasing cost of my daily bowl of corn pops since people want to put corn in their gas tanks instead of their mouths? See...I can open a can of worms with the best of them LOL.

It seems as though the minority are the people who can absorb the ticket price increase. CHL-TV offers the majority who can't fit the increase into their already tight budget a way to watch their team play.

Actually the minority are the ones who get on a blog period let along complain.
Would anyone like to take odds that assuming the quality of the team on the ice is comparable to last year that the Komets see no more than a 5% decrease in attendance this year? The only reason I go that high is the economy in general. The majority will buy their seats the same as they do every year and realize that movie tickets are not 25 cents anymore and neither are Komet games.

The opening in Hershey is for Jimmy Bonneau.

Not blaming the Police at all, Denny. I applaud the officers for doing their job. If I owned a business by the coliseum and those going to events were taking away spots from my customers and costing me money, I would have every last unauthorized vechile towed. Simply put, it's rude

You might of said this....

but the Police Officer at HHG is off duty and hired by HHG and you tells you immediately that you are not allowed to park there, only for shopping at HHG.

GM...I knew what you meant. It only took a couple of post to explain it. Why should any business need to pay a Policeman to tell you not to park in their lot unless your shopping their? Right, they shouldn't. They do because people don't use common sense. I was just defending my brothers and trying to help you out! Between the two of us I think it is straight now!

Mr. Sesame Street: You totally missed the point, but I understand, it's elementary.

People have a tendency to over-extend themselves financially, for instance the federal government. So if people have to stick with a budget and they budget in Komet ticks including parking and concessions, then that's their prerogative, right? So if any of those one things increases, than it's an issue for them. Dismissing their viewpoint doesn't make it go away.

I will back up Snuff on this one and add that do want some 'whine' with that cheese. Costs are higher for everything and if you can't make it to the games I'm sure someone will gladly take your place. Just because you are rude and yell louder doesn't make you viewpoint any more viable. Just sayin...

Hello Snuff.

Your post above that starts with, "Is every thread going to be turned by someone complaining about the costs of going to an optional recreational event?", can be explained very easily.

The comments regarding costs and such were a direct response to the thread "Ticket prices increasing". I think you'd have to admit that a thread with that title is going to touch a nerve with many and channel a lot of comments directly toward costs. prices, and the ability to afford things. It encourages a dialogue that will be totally different according to the financial situation of each blogger and thus a large and varied number of responses occurs.

Actually one of the main contributors for the ticket increase hasn't been mentioned by any of the bloggers. It goes a little deeper than what we've commented about.

When the focus of the blog changes, you will see these comments disappear in favor of the new subject. ( I'm kind of assuming that it has about run its course).

Now on to other matters.

The signining of Thinel doesn't surprise me. The Mavs made roster space and cap money by trading Sirota. Meanwhile, back on the ranch, the Komets who say they are concentrating on "scoring forwards" have signed Thomas and Podshendyalov. I don't consider Podshendyalov a "scorer" as yet. He may turn out to be, mind you, but isn't one yet. The other is a guy who they didn't even bother to protect, basically repeated his mantra from last off season to this one, is a veteran ( and as a veteran becomes the sixth and final veteran).

I am sure that the K's will find an excellent backup for Boucher. I really don't have any concerns about that roster spot.

I love the defense and think that the K's are going to have to make a tough decision before the season starts.

Rizk is reported to be going to the Hershey camp to fulfill that opening. Mightbite tells us it's Bonneau. Guess what? I believe Mightbite.

When will they upgrade the scoring? Some have mentioned that "scoring will be here." Some comments are leading us to wait until the end of September or the first week of October. Some comments suggest that Hodgman will be back soon after the first of the year.

Guess what? I am, and I think a lot of others are also, tired of being teased! Scoring is the 'weakest link" on this roster. Sign all the young guys you want. Just get me two goal scorers to put on this roster!!

No touch and clearly you missed the point that your spewing this on this topic which had nothing to do with ticket pricing when there is a perfectly good thread to spew it makes your viewpoint seem to be....spew.

Alan...
I have no problem with the debate on ticket prices. My point was there is a perfectly good thread for that topic. If every topic is going to be derailed by complaining about ticket prices then Blake might not need to bother posting other topics.
