No, i base that on the familiar players in the league and other issues.

Take flints injuries and bad managment away and they are a different team.

Hats off to port huron they did a good job this year.

K-zoo could have hired coach "P" but didn't, i think that is the difference in their standing this year.

i'm just glad Bloomington didn't make the playoffs for some reason it was difficult to overcome them this year.

No excuse for Muskegons performance, they should have been a lot better.

if we were running away from other teams during the games instaead of in the standings then i think it might hurt the league. but when you just find a way to win and you win by one or two goals. then all youre doing is showing a team that has a deeper lineup and a bunch of guys whove bought into the coaches system and who enjoy playing with and for one another. its just a very rare occurance and i doubt we can do it again next year, heck it hasnt even been proven yet that we can do it during the playoffs!

I don't know. We're switching sites soon so hopefully that won't be a problem. We may not get it done until after the season is over, however.

I do think it is bad for the league, because the perception is there that the "Frankes" run and own the league. Compared to the other teams in the league Fort Wayne has an adavantage in attracting more talented players and rookies. Even though the games have all been close, Fort Wayne still has won because they have the better overall talent. Nobody cares what the score was. The question is did you win or loose and the K's have one 19 out of their last 21 which is just ridiculous.

Gosh, you can go back into the 50's and find teams that just was two steps better then the rest of the league. However, many times these teams had players that belonged in the NHL but the parent team had no place for them to play.

This team will be one that set the modern day standard of a great team. It is much better then the San Diego team, from the 90's as it made up not that many single outstanding players. This year the team has had so many players who picked the team up in certain games and carry them on their back.

The players, coaches, owners, and fans should just set back and enjoy this. This is one of the things in sports you may only see in 20-30 years. If that often.

I will state I am not surprised as the players decided to listen to Sims. With players checking their EGO's in their lockers and buying into Sims system has proven Sims does know what it takes to get it done. Of course the players have to be willing to commit their talent and bodies to carry it out.

The only thing with the playoffs coming the teams playing the Komets will try to suck them into DUMB THINGS. They must use their heads and PICK THEIR TIME when opponents are held accountable.

The playoffs are for the Komets to loose.

Great article. This has been a season for the ages and one I will never forget. The fact that the Komets are not blowing teams out shows that the talent in the IHL is close. This year's team, and the reason Fort Wayne is leading by 29 points, is a byproduct of the goaltending. The Komets have two #1 netminders who are keeping the K's in every game long enough for the offence to score as many goals as needed to win. These last 10 games or so at home have all come down to the 3rd period or OT and worth every penny to watch.

I am sad that this ride will have to come to an end once the playoffs are over. The talent on this team will be very hard to dublicate.

It is very hard to say the Komets are ruining the League. They just happen to be the best TEAM in the League. (note) There is no I in team. It is not all talent. It is DESIRE, Co-operation, Understanding your responsabilties and most importantly HEART. This team has it all. They hate to lose more than they like to win. Close scores prove there is a certain parity that the IHL has. I am really enjoying this Team and this season. I wish it would never end. It will I know, with the "Turner Cup" in Fort Wayne hands. "GO KOMETS"
