Last post, bugles not blaring. Waited to see Snuff make a comment and a valid one. Blake what is your point with the plus minus stat? Snuff obviously loved it. I have listened and read, watched two games live last weekend. Three of the guys you make reference to are double digit "plus" before tonights game.
Certain players can play with certain players. Things get done or don't.
Just to clarify, Snuff do you include Guy in your list of "Vets" who should not be on the team? PC?
Can't skate, can't play at any level of this game.
Pinch? ... can you get back? don't think so.
Time to lay off Wendy (the real super fan) and get in the game folks.
Will you let this stand, Blake?

Okay, see? That would be an example of an insult. I'll give it two out of three stars for edgy humor, but the book was better.
You know, about a week ago, I almost posed a question regarding whether the K's might have been peaking too soon. Granted, they had to make a push when they did to get out of the hole they had dug themselves, but since hockey tends to be a game of hot and cold streaks, it did make me wonder if they were in danger of cooling off before the playoffs like a horse that makes its move too soon in a race. Theoretically it shouldn't matter, and the injuries are no doubt playing a role, too. But it will interesting to see what happens Saturday and Sunday (isn't it always?). If the Icemen lose both of those games in regulation, they'll be close to being mathematically eliminated. These are games they need to win.
There you go. Everytime I've talked up how tough an opponent could be, the Komets cream them. My work here is done.

turn out the lights the party is over. This city is spoiled by the last 3 champonships. I can tell you all right now it will be a long time before you see another cup in this city unless we go back to the IHL with 6 teams

This latest "effort" certainly was not what I meant by imploring the team, roster and coaches, to DO THE WORK. There is something terribly, terribly wrong. I can't imagine that the bus rides or the locker room is a very pleasant place to be.
The next two games against Evansville are now even more important. Not just for the standings, but to see if this team has any pride left in themselves. Without two wins I would think that the season and the playoffs are over, that the team has decided to just "go through the motions".
Not a very pleasant thought, is it? The Fort Wayne Komets getting embarrassesd in their first season in the CHL. To give the naysayers all the ammunition they will ever need to discredit three straight playoff championships, to tarnish the idea that the last three seasons were "the golden age" of Komet hockey, and the idea that this treasured franchise is running away with its tail between its legs.
The whole though of it makes me sick. The sin isn't in losing, the sin is in not trying.
Wondering what the problem is concerns me. I am a little concerned for the 60th season next year.
Management and Coaches seem to have no answers. That is the fact that concerns me the most.

PC because of his "comfort" level
Guy because I did not believe his clutch and grab would fly in this league and he no longer has the speed to compensate
Curdy is damaged goods who realizes now his AHL dreams are pretty much over.
I didn't love the stat as much as I thought to myself what kind of reaction I would have gotten had I been the one posting it.
