Forward P.C. Drouin just told me he is leaving the Komets play in Morzine, France. After a short visit to France, his wife Michelle will remain in Fort Wayne and continue to teach at IPFW. The couple recently bought a home in Fort Wayne.
"It just seemed like a good thing,'' Drouin said. "It's good money, and obviously it's a French-speaking area.''
Drouin played two years with the Komets, scoring 24 goals and 74 points each season. Asked why he wanted to leave the Komets, Drouin said, ``All the stuff in the league and how everything is changing. It doesn't seem very stable. I didn't enjoy last year much, and I was kind of looking for something else to try out a new experience.''

We'll really miss PC. We are friends with him and Michelle and they are wonderful people. We have known this for several weeks but didn't want to speak ahead of time.

Interesting comment about the league being unstable and it will continue to be unstable if the powers to be think they can put a product on the ice that is labled as "euro" hockey

Heard this rumor 2 weeks ago also....I guess it was more than a rumor. Funny thing, all the rumors we hear keep turning into fact. If Chaulk is a K-Wing next year like I am hearing....I will be sick.
Well our buddy Nichols is at it again in Elmira....they announced the signings of Tedstone and Tidball a couple of cement heads for next season. It was kinda funny the way they said Tedstone is a rookie at age 36 with like 8 games of experience...made me laugh...

Europe fits Drouin more than hockey where we gets checked.... This guy underachieved throughout his short stint here and people praise him..... I know he is a nice guy and all, but so have been many other players who didn't perform....
Yeah, you're right KF. Who needs a guy that can only score 24 goals, have 26 assists, and be the second highest scorer on the team behind only Chaulker. Who needed Bo? Heck, why do we even need Chaulk?? Let's get guys that can only hit & fight, but not score any goals! I'm sure we can win, at least, 25, maybe 30 games in a season! As for being a nice guy, that is a HUGE understatement. You couldn't ask for a nicer guy, and great family man.

See what happens when a good coach leaves MAN. All the good players are quitting now to since they dont get to play for the winnierst coach in the history of UHL is now gone. Get used to no St Piere, no drouin, and probbaly Chaulk and not many wins. You guys win tho!

I could say something really nasty Komet Fan, but I'll hold my tongue. PC was a really great player and was a great asset in a Komet uniform. You just sound like you never like anybody. Why don't you change to a Muskegon Fan? They're always idiots too.

I just wish Komet Warrior would bother to read the entire article, it stated that he was unhappy last year (that playing for Puhalski) and that the changes for this year necessitated the move. No where did P.C. say that since Puhalski left, he wanted to leave.
Let's not make assumptions (like Komet Warrior knows how to read) about other bloggers.
Trust me, Puhalski leaving had nothing to do with PC leaving. I'm am a good friend of PC and I don't believe that there was any love loss there or with many of the players.

I have to laugh. Today the Maple Leafs bought out/released Tie Domi, the tough guy and one of the most popular Leafs of the last decade because they realize his position is no longer needed in todays NHL. For the last 10 years or so Domi bled blue and white. Just like here there are battles on the Toronto radio about whether this type of player is needed in order to win. I am going to miss Domi but I think his spot can be filled with a more skilled player. It just goes to show you that passionate fans pretty much act the same anywhere when it comes to player movement.
Hey Jungle Monkey you have no right to say that about me MAN! The last time I checked I got to have my opinion and it is an positive one unlike most of your stuff. The only people that can tell other people what to say are mark and Blakes on here. Got it MAN? I read the articles that they put on here Greg so calm it down.
Keep this up and I'm going to punish you by making you watch the World Cup! Remember we're (at least all of you) are all Komets fans who want the same thing. Everybody relax, have a beer and enjoy the weekend.
