The Fort Wayne Komets held their 2011 End-of-Season party and Jersey Auction Wednesday night at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.

Komet veteran defenseman Guy Dupuis' #2 sweater garnished the highest bid for the second straight year at $2,750.

21 Komet jerseys were auctioned for a total of $16,950.

Specialty items including a 2010-11 Komets scrapbook, a set of three P.C. Drouin proto-type bobbleheads and the Komets Christmas Tree displayed in the 2009 Festival of Trees yielded an additional $1,375.

The game-worn jerseys and various specialty items auctioned combined for a total amount raised of $18,325.

Net proceeds from the jersey auction will be distributed to charity.

Not winning a championship can dampen enthusiasm for spending stupid amounts of $$ on a jersey

Still, crazy to think that a guy that suited up for a couple games in the playoffs draws more than Boucher. At least crazy to me.

A lot of people got game-worn Boucher jerseys from his offer last summer too. The other thing to consider is who is bidding for these. It isnt just fans, but friends and families who can skew the bidding. Not saying Reiter doesnt deserve to go #2 either.

I am surprised that the Chaulk fans didnt push his much higher.

That said great job as always by Komet fans raising money for charity.

Speaking of that, Blake (or anyone) do you know which charities they are donating to this year?

Are they still giving some of the money to Rob Guinn's daughter? I seem to remember hearing that the Komets had set up a fund for her.

They only auctioned off the players that were on the playoff roster.
