Blow hard

Earth to Purdue Exponent editorial board: It ain't gonna happen:

Indiana should work with SAFER to adopt a legal limit for marijuana possession. The proposed limit is "... making legal the possession of one ounce or less of marijuana for any person 21 years of age or older."

Since Indiana has a legal limit for alcohol, .08 blood alcohol content, it should also adopt a legal limit for a drug that is statistically less harmful short-term.

I, too, live in an ivory tower, but it's not so tall that I can't see the ground. As a service to readers, though, here's a map of state marijuana laws, so you can plan your "marijuana without jail time" trip. Or you could just follow the Willie Nelson tour bus.

A growing group of police, judges and others with long experience on the front lines of the failed "War on Drugs" has concluded that it's time to end all drug Prohibition and move current illicit drugs off the street and into a legal, regulated market for both production and commercial distribution.

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition can book qualified police or judicial speakers for your college groups, civic clubs, church groups or neighborhood orgs.
