Bob Chase is more than just the "Sports Director" at WOWO. He is a perfect gentelman. A great man amoung men. A great Husband and Father. More than any of that he is a friend to everyone that knows him. A man of huge wisdom that will be missed by all. Bob's "Comments" gave us all little bits of it to share. At 83 years young no one has earned retirement more. I know I speak for a lot of people when I wish him many, many years of happyness with Merf. My God Bless Our Friend.
Always has been a class act. He's one of the last remnants of the "old school" radio generation and sound. I wish there were more like him to continually enjoy as I grow older. On the few unfortunate nights when I miss a Komets game and am driving up from Indianapolis, I always feel like I'm already back when you hear him calling the game over the radio. Very cool to be able to hear him in the past, now, and in the future.
Yeah, he announced this at the close of the EOS party. I must say that my heart was kind of in my throat for a moment until he mentioned that he would continue to call the games. Selfish, I know, be he truly is irreplaceable and, without question, one of the greats. I hope he has a wonderful retirement.
