Boucher is GOW

The Central Hockey League announced today that Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 9, 2011.

In recognition of his achievement, Boucher will receive a special gift from Oakley.  To learn more about the wide range of Oakley products, visit www.oakley.com.

Although he won just one of his two starts last week, no goaltender in the league was more impressive than Boucher who allowed just one goal in each of his two appearances.  The Leduc, Alberta native turned away 61 of 63 shots (.968 save percentage) earning three of a possible four points for his club.  On Saturday, Boucher made 40 saves in Dayton leading the Komets to a 2-1 win.  He came back less than 24 hours later and went nose-to-nose with Quad City's David Brown (Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week last week) taking a scoreless tie into overtime.  In the extra session, Boucher and the Komets were beat just 11 seconds into the OT.  Boucher stopped 21 of 22 shots in Sundays overtime loss.

On the season, the 5-10, 175-pound goalie is 8-9-3 with a .905 save percentage but is 4-0-3 in his last seven decisions allowing just 15 goals during those games.

Geesh, you people don't read. The operative words there being "would have". [rolls eyes] Not to mention that last I knew, Blake was taken.
