Tailing the Komets

Boucher named GOM

The Central Hockey League announced today that Fort Wayne's -sentinel.com%26u=4071%26s=605%26t=url%26d=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.pointstreak.com%252Fprostats%252Fplayerpage.html%253Fplayerid%253D1536467%2526amp%253Bseasonid%253D7599" target="_blank">Nick Boucher has been named the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for December/2011.  Boucher will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed watch courtesy of Sher-Wood and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

The Komets have been one of the better teams in the CHL and a large factor of this success comes from net minder Boucher who has recorded some of the best goaltending numbers in the league.  The Leduc, Alberta native finds himself first place in almost every category, including his 2.28 G.A.A., his .922 save percentage, and his 18 total wins.

In the month of December, Boucher went 10-1-1 only playing in one game without earning a point for his team.  Boucher allowed twenty-four goals in twelve starts with his hot play helping push the Komets to first place in the Turner Conference.

Congratulations to Nick Boucher. No time to relax, however.

Just as an aside to a previous discussion here. According to the CHL transactions today, Robin Richards has been placed on team suspension by Dayton.

The transaction page also showed Tyler Sims has been waived. Does that mean that Gerry Festa has reported?

How many of you are wondering whether Festa will show statistical improvement with the Komet defense in front of him instead of the Missouri defense?

Still no public word on Kangas? I think Komet fans are interested and hoping whatever happened won't be a career ending injury.
