I think OC will get a game for the hit and I also think Reaney's should also sit a game. If the league wants to get those hits out of the game then they have to take a stand, if they don't then you will continue to see them. Both were brutal hits and I am sure OC did not mean to do it but it happens. Kudos for OC also standing up and fighting Wray when he challenge him.
Is there video yet of the OC fight? I could be less lazy and go look myself....but I wondered if anyone knew just a yes/no answer before I started....thanks! I saw OC stand up very well for himself in Dayton last season. He may not have technically "won" the fight against the guy who was a little bigger than him, but I was impressed that a guy who is normally not at all a fighter did not let someone who is just handle it for him. OC's the kind that will jump in every now and then, and that impresses me.
I am really sort of hoping that I get to go Wednesday now....my own kid has a game, so I doubt I'll make it. That might be the problem....I've missed all of this series....have not heard any of any of the games. I better at least tune in if I don't go....Gotta Believe!!

I am proud of the Komets. You can't win a Kup every year. This year was very interesting and like riding a rollercoaster. There have been many good things from this season even though most will belly-ache and complain because we are not dominating the league.
I have loved watching Tab this season.
Apod has been fun to watch develop.
Chaulker coming back was great personally.
Guy making adjustments and still being very effective.
Schrock giving it his all every shift of every game.
OC getting stronger all year long like usual.
PC being my new Buddy.
LaPointe playing his "role" being big for us.
Molle stepping up.
Cescon being tough as an open package of beef jerky...lol.
Those are some things just off the top of this guys noggin.
I still think that the Komets could win this thing.....I wouldn't ever count them out.
But either way.....I am always proud to be a Komet Fan.
If OC gets suspended.....it is a crime. No way that was a hit that deserves anything more than a pat on the back. It was clean. Watching the video it appears he made contact with his back to the Rush Players shoulder and it spun him around. I think the Rush player acted like he got shot by a cannon trying to draw a penalty....and might have hit his head trying to win an academy award. JMO.

I wouldn't necessarily be surprised to see OC get suspended considering the increased attention head shots and concussions are getting, but if he gets more than a game I'd be shocked. OC is about as far from a dirty player as you can get. The Rush coach's awkward comparison to Colt King was the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Yeah we'd be ticked if King took out Chaulk... King is a 6'2", 225lb tough guy... OC is a speedy skill player... there's no comparison. OC took his medicine after the hit like a man and didn't shy away from it even as the Rush treated him as though he was some sort of goon who couldn't wait to do it again. To hear the Rush talk about him you'd think OC is the AA version of Matt Cooke

I too, am very proud of this team, it has been a long season of ups and downs but this team stayed in it all year, they showed they can play with CHL teams, new and old. When most people had them getting beat in 3 games against Bloomington, they came out and proved them all wrong, I still believe they have it in them to come out on top of this series. The fans need to come out Wednesday and support this team, win or lose!! If they lose, they lose! We are a hockey town, now as fans, we need to prove that! Lets GO Komets! You've been in this situation before, you know what to do, stay focused, stay out of the box, do not stoop to RC acting jobs and play Komet Hockey! Let's go Boys!!! One shift, one period at a time!! I'll agree that this has been a fun season to watch. I've been proud of the Ks at certain times. During other times when they've slouched or given lackluster efforts I've wanted to question why certain players are on the team. When they've played like Komets, I've been proud of our Komets.
I haven't been watching hockey for as long as many of the experts on here have, but this has been the most inconsistent team that I've witnessed, and I'd place a lot more blame on mental weakness than physical inability. I just feel like for whatever reason, this combination of players has confidence issues. We've all seen what they can do when they are firing on all cylinders and the talent that is on our team. However, for one reason or another, they choose only to put out that effort until they lose a game, which leads to two, which leads to a losing streak and a losing mentality.
With that being said, if this team decides to play like we saw them play when they were on their run in late winter, the sky is the limit. Blowout losses or close losses are still losses. This "but they were close" stuff is out the window now. Who cares how close they were or how many times one bounce of the puck could've gone another direction? If we're talking about these things Wednesday night or Thursday morning, we're done.
Let's see the late-winter Komets team who can beat anyone. If they show up, we are good to go. If not... well, we can start having our annual discussions of the downfalls of minor league hockey and "if you don't like it, why don't you buy the team." I'm not personally ready for those same lame topics yet. Let's keep the hockey going. GO KOMETS!

The first 5 mins of Wednesdays game will be telling. Which 2011 Komets show up? Chaulk better have his speed skates on. Schrocky plastering some guys. Leo Thomas stepping up. Cescon and Molle laying down the law in the defensive zone. No more excuses. Rapid City could be without one of their best players and possibly thier starting goaltender. The crowd is ready for the return of The Jungle. Al and Colin need to have the guys fired up!
The fans can help with that as well Jungle Monkey...we needs to be loud...from the drop of the puck...Larry needs to keep the crowd in the game...the entire game..the guys feed off us! We need butts in the seats..and we need to be loud! Let Go Komets!!!
