Brighten your corner

A few days ago, the Christian Science Monitor had an article pointing out that the humble incandescent light bulb isn't really being "banned":

The bipartisan legislation, passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bush in 2007, sought to boost lighting efficiency and save on energy costs by requiring lightbulbs be more efficient, not by banning any particular style of bulb

Leo - The "more efficient" incandescent light bulbs (like the tungsten-halogen ones) burn at a much higher temperature, which makes them subject to explosion (mainly due to NOT wiping the salt products from your fingers before turning them on). In some lighting fixtures, exposure of the lamps to falling debis makes them "home-fire" starters.
Just what we need in our homes!!
