They need to do it right now while Musky has no goalie.... Centomo is still day to day and Lundin was called up... They played (and won) wed. with two emergency goalies....

I won't put it out of the question. The last year of the UHL Muskegon had a huge lead in the standings only for them to lose it to the Komets. And if I remember right, it wasn't decided until the last game of the regular season. Muskegon ended the season with a game against QC and got killed in that game by QC. The Komets ended the season in Kalamazoo shutting them out 3-0.

JR is right though, they need to do it while Muskegon has no goalie.

They might be able to catch the Lumberjacks. We need to focus on a quick start every game not lolly gaging in the first period. The games in hand have to be won. I think this old quote comes into play"One shift at a time, or win every little battle"

I found this interesting...did you know that the first Nazi aircraft that successfully integrated rocket technology to a plane was nicknamed the "Komet"...... The things you learn while watching the military channel and blogging... :)

You are right Ashley, but didn't we get killed in the first round of the playoffs that year (or second round at the very least)? I would rather they concert their efforts on getting home ice advantage through the first round, at least for now.

Team USA leads 3-0, eight minutes into the first period. Kiprusoff made a bonehead play, clearing the puck right to Malone, who buried it in an open net for the first goal. Then Parise went top shelf to score a power-play goal. Erik Johnson just made it 3-0.

6-0 USA into the second period. Too much dump and line change here. I hope the US team doesn't do this for two periods. I get that they play different up 6 goals, but to dial back the intensity too much will hurt this team on Sunday.

What an amazing period. Reminded me of the 11-3 opening night win against Flint a couple of years ago, except this was in the first period.

Go USA!

Dear Frankes,
You have our most sincere thanks for everything you have done to elevate the Fort Wayne Komets to one of the most
sucessfull minor league franchises in the United States.

Its time to give up the IHL before theres nothing left.

Kalamazoo, Muskegon

Bob isn't on WOWO or 1380, and it's past 7:30pm. Where's the game?

I got it on the Web- streaming

Nevermind, it just came on. Apparently the game was delayed because the boys got there late.

Laurie, if WOWO doesn't show up then you can go to Dayton's web site and link to the B2 audio feed done by their announcer.

Thanks, Steve. That was going to be my last option, but Bob came on about a minute after my initial post.

Komets win! :) And Port Huron lost to QC. :D

The Komets swept Chicago in the first round of the playoffs then lost to Rockford in the next round. Rockford went on to beat Kalamazoo for the Colonial Cup.

We dont catch Musky. But we beat them in the Turner cup finals. That should be good enough!

The boys got lost in downtown Quad City, somehow....true story, no rumor.

Considering all the "gentlemen's clubs" we saw there I don't doubt it. :-)

LOL....Steve, they are all "gentlemen", I'm sure they would not be caught there (um, yeah....right). On the bus trip to Dayton last week, we went thru a section of that town where there were like, 5 of them in a row, and we all decided that we were stopping on the way back to have some fun. I was gonna have to stay on the bus to make sure the driver did not move the bus (again). I'd have gone in and had fun too, but I had a 9 year old with me, so....not really appropriate. Needless to say, the driver had other ideas, and the guys on the bus loudly protested when we drove past them. LOL. It was a fun trip. I'd highly recommend going on the next one to anyone.
