Tailing the Komets

Can you say WOW!?

What a weekend for the Komets who won all three games to pull two games within .500. Mathieu Curadeau scored in overtime to give the Komets the win. Nick Boucher made 22 saves as the Komets out-shot the Brahmas 36-22. Think this one wasn't a little special for Al Sims who used to coach the Brahmas?

This game would have been more like 5-2 K's if it werent for Texas goalie Savage. Listening to radio he made some incredible saves including a 2-0 rush. Our 36 shots were quality. Great game to overcome a great rookie season to Savage.

Now the question is what do you do with Rodgers, Warner, Thomas, and Musslewhite? Some tough decisions on what to do because this lineup is working without those guys.

Maybe the bashing of ownership will cease....at least for a week or so.
Great job Komets.

Zing.

The older guys are leading this team, by example.

PC, Chaulk, Lardner, Guy, Patrosso....these are the guys that are getting it done.

Anyone who doesn't, or didn't see the value of Colin Chaulk....

IS A MORAN.

LMAO

Hold the press, Snuff, are you changing your mind? Am I mistaken? Were you not against ownership bringing back some of the "old IHL guys"? Don't want to get into a p..ing match here. It's just great to see some excitement back in FW isn't it?

MR SNUFFLUPUGUS

I'll take the Moran label but that doesn't change my opinion that the pattern of bringing back old players year after year will not help the future of this team. Then again I never bashed anyone especially not the highly exalted veterans. Not wanting someone back doesn't constitute a bash.

Mike, The bashing I was talking about was the commentary about ownership not caring, being greedy etc. I can disagree with their method of assembling this team without it degrading to a bash and trash session.

Gotta have have a mix of veteran leaders and young guys.

Gotta have a core group that you return and continue to bring young guns in around the core, and has one or 2 core guys leave....Bertram or Shaf or Hukalo......you keep one of the guns from the previous years.....OC or Frankie or Schrock......you add to, take away, and keep all at the sametime each year. It has always been the Franke formula....

Has it worked?

Snuff, I understand your points. And I think "moron" is a little harsh. You obviously are someone who is weilding the double edged sword of being a sponsor and a huge fan. Having been around the game for as long as I can remember I understand that you can't survive without both. Don't change my friend. Banter on the blog is healthy. Everyone gets a chance to play here. That's a wonderful thing.

No one called him a Moron.

It was MORAN.

There is a difference.....LOL

Just a side bar. I posted early on that maybe management underestimated what it was going to take in the new league. It took them a while to figure it out. But it is up to the players now. All that has happened in the past can be put down to lesson learned if the team can get back their respectability.

BTW Mike you are right in that juggling my two interests is difficult.
In this case as a business person I want the team to do what it can to make the casual everyday fans happy. For many that includes recycling those players that they like and feel comfortable seeing in a Komets uniforms. Happy fans buy tickets which can directly impact my business in a positive manner.
So while I may have wanted to see the leadership of this team change I am smart enough to realize that a large portion of the fan base was jumping up and down when Colin returned.
The great thing is...the day they retire his jersey I'll be standing up and cheering just as loudly as they are. His contributions on the ice has given me joy as a fan and some money for my business too. A win win.

Congrats on a great weekend, Komets. Granted, the Mudbugs are struggling a lot more than I realized. Did they have call-ups, injuries, or something? Because losing 9 of their last 10... Damn. That said, the K's would have dropped these games a couple of months ago. Noble victories, all. Apparently grimacing during interviews just means they are about to come out at full charge. So noted. Now hurry back before the snow emergency goes into effect.

Er... That first message appeared to go into Blake's spam, so I changed it and hit enter, which did post. I didn't think Blake would post the first one since I got the re-write to post on my own. :S
