Tailing the Komets

Colisem ribbon board is going up

They have started installing it today. The board will cost $762,00 and will not go completely around the arena because of the way the building is constructed. The board will be over 600 feet long.

Also, Evansville has signed former UHL Most Valuable Player Jeff Nelson. He sat out last season.

Oh, and Happy Birthday to Jungle Monkey!

Now I wonder just how much it will cost (fees) the Komets to use it? The Coliseum charges $$$ for just about everything anyone uses from the Score Board to Chairs, headphones and most likely TP. My guess it will not be inexspensive. I was going to say cheap but that didn't sound polite. OH well! Burgee can pay for it. He has lots of big bucks.

Did you leave out a zero? If it's really only $762 I want one at my house! (BTW - got my Boucher Sydney Bears Jersey yesterday - freakin' awesome!)

BTW - Brett Nelson-Bond of the Sydney Bears says they still have ten Boucher Jerseys left - both colors (Red and White). His email address is brett "at" stirlingbond "dot" com "dot" au. $130 apiece, can use Paypal

Will the board block any views from the upper deck? It looks like it does. I hope not I have tickets for 8 games already this year in the front row of the upper deck. It would suck to find out I will have a blocked view. Also again does anyone know if the players the Komets have signed who are trying out for AHL teams have a backup plan in case any of those players happen to make those squads? I love to see guys get their shot and keep moving up but that would leave some holes in the Komets roster.

You already bought tickets for the upper deck?

Please tell me they are for the prime games like the home opener, Thanksgiving, NYE...etc. and not just random games?

I am surprised they didn't put those ribbon displays lower, like the club level....Would have looked better.

But I agree, it looks like the boards could block the view of some in the uppers.

Glad I don't sit there.

I will take my seats over anybody's in the house anyway. My seats are by far the best for seeing the game and being in the action. IMHO.

I am not positive at all. I think those ribbons will be mounted on the concrete face. I don't think they will block anybodys view of anything. JUst seems like a lil' over reaction at least until you can see them. The photo is way out of wack!

I zoomed the photo, I think you might be right Dennis. Looks like it is totally onto concrete structure.

Should be cool addition.

No I picked and chose certain games to go to. I tried to average a couple of games a month and I want to see each different team at least once. I have only bought up until the end of the year. I did get opening night but haven't bought for Thanksgiving yet but I will. And my seats are front row middle section in upper deck. Really, they are good seats. Good view of everything. The ribbon board does look like it will be pretty cool when finished, especially when they turn off the lights when the Komets take the ice.

Nope, not here. Never was. There's no clear patch around the building because of the old girders used to hold the roof up.
