Either your going to have an instigator penalty or not... I dont like this idea of giving the referee's the option of handing one out; but calling it something else, like an unsportsmanlike conduct or delay of game... Do not create too many grey areas for the ref's to make judgement calls...clutching is a penalty in this zone; but not in that zone...I want to get on the road, so I'll give these guys delay of game penalties for fightting in the 3rd period, etc...

Give us the league they promised or merge with the ECHL or some other no touch league...

Ummmmm......what? He sounds like he isn't a fan of the fights in this league. The IHL was billed as old-time hockey....fights are a part of that old-time label. Fans are attracted to the unpredicatable part of a night out at the old hockey game....the part where anyone could drop the mitts at any moment. That drama of the game can not be lost at this level or fans will dry-up quicker than the quicker-picker-upper, brawny. I think there has to be a nice mix of hockey, physical play, and fighting. The story-lines have to be rich from night to night to keep fans intrigued by this level of Minor League sports. It helps put butts in the seats.

I am pumped up about tonight, because you never know what might happen when Robin Big Snake is on the ice....I hope Brad MacMillan beats the crap out of him....Just Saying.

Bet I am not alone on this.

sometimes staged fights, where 2 players decide to go after the face off, has been part of the game forever and is a way to fire up your team or change the momentum of the game..........I say leave it be.
