Good job, guys. The name is still horrible, though. Sorry.
Dschebig, is there someplace I could send some treats for your dog? Or you can pick them up at the Olde Oak Tree, if you know where that is. Just let me know when. Use the email I posted a few threads down if you were still interested.
And yes, that is the last time I'm going to mention dog treats. :S

My cousin lives almost right next door to the Olde Oak Tree. What a vague reference!
Awesome job to the team. I wasn't a fan of the name either but I have been to sporting events all over this summer and you wouldn't believe how often you'll run into someone wearing a Tin Caps hat or shirt. I've seen them in Indy, Chicago, Cedar Point, and Cincinnati. All-in-all, great season. Their ticket office leaves something to be desired, but other than that, awesome job!

Wendy--Bring me a few dozen at the first Komet game you attend. You know where I'll be. Bubba will forever be your friend. I don't know if that's good or bad. He thinks everbody is his friend. I am with you, I really dislike the name "Tin Caps" I am glad they won the Championship. It is nothing but good for Fort Wayne let alone their fans. Two professional Champions in one city in one year,is very hard to accomplish.

CONGRATS TINCAPS!!! A little story for everyone: I am a part of one of the host families for the Tincaps. I received a phone call from one of our host players with 1 minute left in the Komets championship game. Here is what he said "where are you - who is yelling - the Komets are they winning - it's loud - I can't hear you just text me the score". Needless to say, I text James the score and received a reply..."that's awesome". The night after the Komets won the championship we went to the Tincaps game and the boys were so excited for the Komets. We told them that it was now their turn to bring a championship to Fort Wayne. They all smiled and said that was their plan. Throughout the season, I've had the pleasure of watching these boys play their hearts out. Today will be a great celebration at the stadium, but also a sad time for the host families. Saying goodbye is always hard, so I think I'm going to just say to them that I will see them during spring training in Arizona. I'm sure that one of the first things they all ask about will be the Komets.

Huh? Jake Pence? What happened to Europe? I guess this means we didn't give him a qualifying offer...? That's weird, though I know he was the favorite whipping boy of a lot of Komets fans.
Not as vague as it seems, RK. If you look up "Olde Oak Tree" and "Fort Wayne", there is really only one.
Dchebig, Bubba sounds like a real sweetheart. Give him a belly rub for me.

Besides Tyler Willis and Jake Pence, the Generals also signed Kyle Kos and two young players. Finally the Flint Generals are acting like a hockey team and are starting to put together a roster. They had already announced that Greg Bullock had signed a contract. On the IHL web site the release said that they acquired Jake Pence's rights in a trade with Fort Wayne. What did the Komets get? Maybe the rights to some other player? It certainly couldn't have been cash because we all know the Generals don't have any. I hope Blake will ask David Franke that question. I hate those trades that are for "cash considerations" or "future considerations."

If there were tons of them, it wouldn't be vague. Is that place open to the public? I don't think I've ever seen more than one or two cars there, and I figured it was the people who work there because it's usually the same ones. Neat looking place from the outside though.
Did Pence take a beating from the fans? Everyone around me always loved him and I thought people on here always seemed to be supportive of him.
All in all, I think we can all say we're ready for hockey night in Fort Wayne. The Tin Caps were a fun distraction, but it's time for some hockey. Has Hodgman seen any ice time on tv with the Hawks?

An amish furninture store with electricity and located outside of Grabill?? How hypocritical! If you want real, genuine, overpriced Amish furniture, you have to go out to the farms! Anyone who grew up amongst them knows this small piece of common knowledge. Just a word of advice to you townies in here. Growing up out in the boonies and dodging the road apples for the better part of my life, I can honestly say I had friends who, when they gave directions to their homes, simply had to say: "Just follow the power lines."
