In stories this week, I said Brad MacMillan's 15-game suspension was the longest all-time for a Komet, breaking the mark of 12 games by Robin Bawa. After further research, Bob Bailey was suspended for the final 27 games of the 1963-64 season for hitting referee Frank Slota over the head with his stick.

Yup. That would do it.
Anyone know if Frank Slota is any relation to former Komet Kevin Slota who played for the Komets during the 99-00 season ?
I hate to admit this but I remember that game. If you want to talk about insane that game and Bob Bailey were both crazy. You just never knew when Bailey would come unglued. He chased players all over the ice swinging a stick like a helicopter rotor blade. The man was a brick short of a load for sure.
Dschebig, it ran in his family. If you recall, he was the brother of John Bailey. John Bailey was a real tough guy. Bob Bailey was a good hockey player.
a.l.a. Max Middendorf.
Kreva Krafsovv; sorry about the spelling, but Max split his head like a mellon during an altercation with the infamous Indy Ice.
Another unforgettable moment in sports.
Gee I miss that team.
I have a Max Middendorf game worn jersey
lol That was Sergei Krivokrasov
Was anyone in Kalamazoo the night Kevin Kaminski came up behind Enrico Ciccone and dropped him to his knees with a vicious swing of his stick accross the back of his legs while his back was turned.
Enrico gooned anybody and everybody that night, and killer had enough. He dropped him like a tree.
We lost that game, but God was it worth the trip just to see that.
I love memories of old time goonery.. before we became the league's victims.. I can only hope that we get some old fashioned hell raising with Muskegon before the season is over.
