David Franke said there will be a new third jersey this season, and it will be a home jersey which will debut on opening night. They are going to wear last year's black, red and white jerseys on the road mostly, and the new jersey will split time with the traditional home white jersey.
There's no news yet on a third exhibition game, but it won't be with Cincinnati. It also won't be with Kalamazoo.

Hit, just because you have a contract, you are guaranteed nothing. All it takes is that contract being waived. Most every guy that comes to a pro camp at the AA level has a contract, because they aren't worth the paper they are written on. They are basically 1 day contracts. Now in the AHL, those contracts are guaranteed. A one year deal is a one year deal-not a daily contract like the CHL and ECHL have. I would be neither surprised to see him cut or make the team this season.

Andy, go argue with Cohn. I was just informing the bloggers what he said. And from what I gather, he is the right price. The Cap space is slim.
Also, there was an announcement that each team only has an official number of contracts to use each year, after they are used, you are done. There won't be swtiching around of players like we have seen in the past where we ship out 7-8 guys and bring in 25 different guys to look at. There won't be constant turn-over like we saw in Flint. I think I read the number of contracts is like 35. So if all the pre-season roster guys have contracts, as you imply, then the Komets are left with 10 or less contracts the rest of the year. Some players that are on the pre-season roster will be player tryout deals.

Hit, there is NOTHING in the last CHL CBA about only having 35 contracts for the season. Where was said announcement? I am going to check on that. If that is the case then It would make sense, as you said, to not waste contracts.
Andy: unless you have purchased a copy of the CHL's CBA with the PHPA then you cannot say for sure what is or isnt in the CBA.... I havent been able to find the complete agreement anywhere.

I will do a little looking around to find a link or it might have even been printed on this blog about the 35 contracts limit. Blake, you remember this? It was probably 3-4 weeks ago that was discussed either here, by a Franke, or in a CHL press release. I think it I read it in more than one place. FYC, this blog, and maybe even Cohns.
