Tailing the Komets

Couple of notes

I'll bet you didn't know from the Komets' weekly press release...

The Komets' power play was 3/10 for the week improving to 12/45 and a CHL best 26.7% rating... Boucher improved to sixth overall in the CHL with a 2.56 goals-against average in 10 appearances... The Komets will host their 50th consecutive Thanksgiving game this Thursday night when Bloomington makes their second holiday visit.

I'm kind of surprised it's been that long since they've sold out on Thanksgiving. Still a fun game to go to though. Only problem is, it's tough to stay awake after all the turkey, especially if the game is slow...

Amen! I'll bet the coliseum concession stands don't do that much business, either.

Should be fun to see them play bloomington to see how bad the blaze really are.

A lot of times, I have seen the Komets play their best hockey against the best teams, and when we play a poor team, we seem to lower ourselves to their level. Hope we stay "up" for Bloomy on Thursday!

It seems like the Thanksgiving games are always slow and boring too. Teams like QC, Dayton, Bloomington. I can't remember the last time I was 'into' a Turkey Day game. Given how Bloomington has been playing this year, this year will finally be entertaining as all get out or PAINFULLY brutal to watch.

The concession stands sell something other than beer? Never noticed. What a great idea!

Lets hope it's not boring and they score a lot of goals so we can burn off all that turkey!!!

Gee, I bet its because those players would rather be home with their families on thanksgiving. ...

That idea is just crazy enough to be true JR1!

*cue comment about many of these guys being Canadian so it's just a regular Thursday to them*

Yeah, that would be early October for them. And Thanksgiving isn't as of a big a deal in Canada as I understand it. A lot of people are probably out of town. Thanksgiving is the biggest travel holiday of the year. And a good percentage of the those not traveling are in a turkey stupor. But it is usually a very good game for those who do make it out.

* "Very good" in that the K's seem to win a lot

Strange that Thanksgiving is on a Thursday here. Not on a Monday.
