I recall some others in a similar circumstance when a turnover that led to a goal led to a benching, in the doghouse, a shout-out during a presser, but not BWs.

He just gets more playing time....

And his teammates allegedly tell people that they think Warner is the greatest player ever.

But enough about BWs.

Bob Chase made the comment at the end of the game after Leo got a double minor for slashing that Leo could be in trouble with the team for that, and that some guys at this point in the season are playing for jobs for next season....Bob said some guys are.

Bob also said the team lacked good effort tonight.

Odd comments about a team that should be getting ready for a playoff run....

It may not be Warner fault they only scored 1 goal tonight, but it is his fault that instead of down 1 goal we got down 2 goals! That is hockey intelligence Brian!

The score was 2-1 PT.....we were on the powerplay. BWs gave the puck to them for a 1 on none.

The last goal was an empty netter.

The empty net came because of the 3rd goal.

If the Komets had been tied 2-2 and he gave up the puck that led to the game winner.....hmmmm......would you still feel so high and mighty in you forever defense of your Lord Warner???

Oh, I forgot, you know so much because you skate with the Komets at Canlan. Get over yourself.

Warner is our 6th defenseman.....and we have let at least 2 defensemen go that were better.

Those 1 goals quickly add up. When someone makes a terrible pass or turnover which is picked up by the other team and taken in for a goal...yes, that is strictly on said player.

The francis issue had nothing to do with a bad pass. It had to do with a personality issue and not being percieved as a team player by 17 other komet players. He wasn't well liked by team mates. He had to go

Ok.....good about Francis. But he did get benched after a bad pass, and the coach even referenced it. Francis even said it. The not being a good teammate thing, ok, I will say you might be right. You probably are right.

Go ahead and deflect the issue at hand with a bad defenseman that gets more ice time than the rest of the defenseman.

That is bad coaching in my opinion.

I'm over myself hit.. Your jealousy of my hockey expierences are exactly that.. Well what if those other 5 players hadn't been on the ice for the first 2 goals then we would have been up 1-0 when warner turned it over . I'm surprised with all your hockey wisdom you haven't gotten the call from dave to coach or manage the club. And if you have ever paid any attention to my post.. I'm not a warner fan.. Well I think you can cut the frustration with a knife. The frustration for some has come to a point of wanting to get the year over with and they are playing like it. I am not sure they can make any true run in the play-offs. Tonight the lines changed up a lot in the second trying to get something going but again no luck. Friday and Saturday could get ugly on the scoreboard

I'd like to see a replay to make sure the puck didn't bounce over his stick or originally I thought his stick might have been lifted from behind. If that's the case, it was just a great play by the PrairieThunder player.

I think he fanned on one timer and it did appeared that puck bounced over his stick. I don't think it was a pass attempt but a give and go with Curdy.

And let me explain something about warner.. Ask anyone with true hockey expierence.. And I mean someone who has played or coached beyond youth hockey, they will explain warners value to the club. This topic has risen many times with very very knowledgible hockey people from ft wayne hockey circles . Although all agree he hasn't had a great season, ( name a komet player who has!) all understand his value and qualities he brings to the club. When a club is having a poor season, fans always find a scapegoat and every mistake that player makes is magnified 10 times over. whether its warner or any other player I get tired of the bandwagon bs. Its a team game one player is not the cause of this teams woes

If Danko was half as good as people keep saying he was, he'd obviously be on the team still, he didn't have the speed for this level, and Warner isn't as terrible as people make him out, every mistake he makes gets blown up because everyone wants his head on a platter

thatguy well said. I wonder why Curadeau and his -23 and Phillips and his -16 get a free pass.

Danko survived on grit and hustle. Speed and talent wise he was not up to Komet standards but hustle can make up for that and those mistakes can be covered up by a team with a better overall defense than this team has. To some extent the same can be said for Warners shortcomings.

As has always been the case with every team and every sport vocal fans will have their untouchables and their goats. I'll admit I never thought I would see this fan base turn on one of their own but there is a first time for everything. In this case being from Fort Wayne has hurt Warner more than it has helped him. Meanwhile Curadeau continues to float from center ice, never back checking and allowing the Komets defense to be hung out to dry...and take the blame for his shortcomings.

PT would have to win every game to have a chance to take over first. The Rush play 2 vs AZ and CO plays 2 against us. If PT can win in QC tomorrow they have a chance. Otherwise, no first round against Bloomington. It will stay the way it is now. Get ready to travel.

Just watched the replay, and Granbois actually picked off the pass at the split-second that Warner was shooting. Great play by Granbois at both ends of the ice.

I have said numerous times that I have no problem with Brandon Warner on this team as a forward; but have serious problems with him as a defenseman... I would like to attend some of those hockey circle meetings... I DO attend the hockey oval meetings at the Coliseum and hear more and more boo's everytime Warner screws up during a game and they are frequent... Move him to forward, let him still play the point on the PP (he does have a good heavy shot) and life as we know it moves on in Fort Wayne...

The positive thing for the Komets for next season, if rumors be true, is there is going to be evn more talent available in this coming offseason. The K's brass better be on the ball from the start to secure some good talent and overhaul this team. 1-whatever is going to be even stronger next year and it will probably be a dogfight all season long...cant wait, actually... :)

Granbois made a good play. Warner should have seen it coming and either gotten the shot off or shuffled a pass across ice. There is an excuse for anything if you look hard enough, and in this case it seems that people are all to willing to find it..

Chase commenting on Leo annoyed me. If Guy Dupuis does the same thing (unlikely, I know), Chase doesn't make the same comment. It seems to me that some in the "Komet Circle" have never embraced Leo, which is a shame since he's one of the few Komets that come prepared to play every night.

I get sick of all this Warner talk... You're all arguing over a guy that had 3 career goals in college and has averaged 5.5 goals a year as a professional. Jake Pence put up those kind of numbers. He just wasn't from Huntertown.

As far as saying Warner has become a "scapegoat" for a bad team, there has been serious banter on this blog for the last two season regarding his play while the Komets were winning championships.

I guess I just don't see why people get so emotional over a guy that accounts for 5 goals a year and is in the 5-6 defenseman slot. I understand that people get upset about the perceived politics of it, but you're not going to change it. The booing of Warner will get louder, but I don't that sends much of a message to the folks that sit in the press box, after all they'd rather run a guy like Leo Thomas into the ground for caring.

No need to point out individual players, but next year I hope we have a major overhaul and forget all of this loyalty crap. We have a lot of guys that can't keep up in this league and the Frankes need to go after the players that can. I for one think this league is better overall product than the IHL2, and we need players that can do more in this league.

Danko was a warrior. Unfortunately his skills were not quite enough to keep him here. He always gave the effort and would stay after practices to work with Dupuis.

I hope he lands somewhere and will be happy.

Unless the Komets make some kind of a run in the playoffs, there will be many players to say "goodbye" to.

I blasted Warner last night for coughing up the puck for that breakaway. However, I'm going to go the other route and say if Reiter doesn't give up a rebound after making the save, the score is still 2-1.
