DeAngelis for team MVP

Anybody else buying this right now?

He's been the most consistent performer since the start of the season. The team was 15-4 and scoring before he got hurt. The power play was climbing all the way to No. 3 in the CHL.

Since he's gotten hurt, the Komets have gone 2-3-2 and have scored 17 goals, including three power-play goals in 35 chances.

He's what makes this team tick this season.

I think if Twister got more "air" time, he would garner a few votes...

Without a doubt, DeAngelis should be the team's MVP.

Have you heard when he'll be ready to play?

Guess thats a good pick Blake. However this year i am having trouble seeing any bright spots that last more than two weeks at a time. Unless divine intervention happens to this team we go down and out in the first round along with me.

Blake might be right.....

But DeAngelis played while the team was in the worst start and slump of Franchise History.

It wasn't until we acquired guys like Lardner, Chaulk, Lapointe, and Molle that this team started playing well.

I am not saying Frankie is not valuable....but it might be just a coincidence that he is out right now and the play is worse...

We just played probably the best 2 teams in the league far from FW on the road, if we had Frankie in the line-up, do we win 1 of those games? Does Boucher make the first goal save and the 3rd goal save because Frankie is the MVP in the line-up?

I think not.

It is too hard to paint the blame on who or how many make this team play like crap.....and to me, it is just as hard to say this one player makes this team great or better than they are.

This is a team....

They have all crapped together as a team.

They have all won together as a team.

And this just isn't a very good team this year in this league.

The CHL has proven to be a better league than Blogmasters and Frankes had anticipated it being.

The IHL2 was not up to this level.

The UHL.....I think it was.

I am in the boat that misses the IHL with the days of Rockford, K-Zoo, Musky, QC, Missouri, Chicago, MC, PH, Flint, etc.

That however is a discussion better suited for this summer, and most likely will be important after the 2 year dating period is over with the CHL and when the Frankes have all ready placed us back in their own league, the IHL3.

Lardner is the MVP.

DeAngelis has been good, but Lardner is more valuable.

Game Winners- Lardner 6 DeAngelis 1
Goals- Lardner 24 DeAngelis 11

Lardner has 2 short handed goals, and is the best defensive forward on the team.

I'd place them in this order for MVP: Lardner, DeAngelis, Chaulk, Thomas.

I think after the season is over they need to clean house Get rid of everyone except Lardner, Chaulk, Pattrasso, Schrock, Mirasty, and Thomas. Bring in younger and faster guys that can stay with these other teams

JM...how can you consider Thomas for MVP...when they played their best hockey of the season with him sitting in the seats?

Rest of your list is good, but I don't have Leo on the "sacred cow" list.

I just think Leo has been the 4th most valuable guy on the team.

We make an issue of how the team plays with certain people in the stands, certain players injured...etc.. but in all actuallity the team has stunk in streaks that can't really be attributed to any one or two players. I think with the exception of a couple guys, you can't really pinpoint anyone that isn't putting in the effort, but that also makes it hard to find players that really standout.

Leo has played hard in my opinion. I think the team MVP is really Lardner's with some consideration going to Frankie.. I just threw in a couple of other candidates.

I will pinpoint it for all of you its all Warner's fault

With this team beings so up and down this season, voting on a MVP for the season is kinda like debating who got snubbed in the college BB bracket...kinda pointless, IMO...

If I had to throw my hat into the ring, I would go with Lardner. There are only three players that I cant remember ever questioning thier effort on any given night... Lardner Cescon and Chaulk. A defensive defenseman will never be an MVP, so Cescon is out. So between Chaulk and Lardner, I give it to Lardner. Lardner has scored some huge goals this season, plays great in all three zones, PK, PP, the guy does it all...

Also why the three players mentioned above would already be signed for next vseason... Cescon would get my unsung hero award for this season.

In any other given season, I would definitely pick Chaulker for MVP, but since he was only here for the last half of the season, I'm going to go with Lardner for MVP this year. I don't think anyone can argue the fact that once Tab got here, the team started turning the corner and then when Chaulker finally arrived, they started making the climb out of the cellar. Tab has been a stellar performer and gets my vote!

However, Frankie is a viable candidate but when's the last time a defenseman was voted MVP?

JR1 I mostly agree with you, but I would add Schrock to the list of guys who I never questioned their effort. If I had a vote for MVP it would go to Lardner, but I'd be fine with it if Frankie got it too.

I thought about putting Schrock on that list; but personally think he tried to change his game a lil too much instead of sticking with what works... He's a grinder, period. He just needs to hit, hit, and hit some more and get in front of the net for those garbage goals... The injuries havent helped; but I just think he was trying too hard earlier in the year.

A lot of bloggers had Schrock playing in the AHL this year.

IMO, attending AHL camps seems to have done more harm than good for some players lately....

It is really too bad that Frankie got hurt at such a critical time in the season. He was doing a great job in every aspect of the game. Hope he can get well soon. In my view, it is certainly between Tab and Frank for MVP.
Schrocker is going to have to change his game in my opinion. He needs to worry less about the big hit. Keep grinding as JR suggests. I just don't think he is big enough to be a pounder, a grinder yes.
With all those moving parts (it is difficult to change a players style) he is open to more injury.
Hopefully, he can learn to play pesky, with an edge but controlled. This should help his production also.

BTW, does anyone have a link to the Bob Chase interview with Nick from Saturday. I missed the game and would be very interested in what Nick had to say. Thanks.
