That was a neat story. Now I'm not saying I do believe in it nor am I saying I don't believe in it.
However, it comes to mind that if one wanted sure proof in its abilities to change the fate of a team for the better, then I would loan it to the Chicago Cubs for a season.
Alan--I am a "Die Hard" Cubs fan and I think they need a lot more than a Lucky Poker Chip.
I had a lucky monkey but it wasn't as lucky as the chip.
I bought a rally monkey in Detroit this year and I thought, "What the heck, I'll bring it with me to game 5 (of the Port Huron series)." After the Komets got down 2-0 I brought the monkey out of my purse and held onto it the entire 3rd period. Komets win 7-2. I had the monkey with me game 6 and held onto it the last couple of minutes of the game and Thomas scores with 2 seconds left to send the game back to Fort Wayne. I've carried it with me since then and only got it out when the K's were down. In game 2 I took the monkey out when the K's were down 2-1 went on to win 3-2.
The couple that sits next to us would rub his head for good luck, too. I wasn't too crazy. :-D
we seen a guy in the Bahamas that could read minds & he got my dogs name + the #8 + Flyers= spooky
Many years ago I carried a loonie to games for good luck. As I recall it's record wasn't all that great so I switched to a twonie. I heaved it across the Coliseum parking lot after losing a playoff round. I think it was to Kzoo in first round, an upset, early '90s sometime.
hey dave, we could have used that lucky chip back in the slow pitch days!!
