Tailing the Komets

Different game tonight

I don't think the Komets look half as good as they did last night, but they are winning 2-0. A very workmanlike effort. They so far haven't made the big defensive mistake, though Nick has gotten some help from a couple of goalposts. Strange weekend. Not a ton of energy in this game, which means it's

kf, I think you are right on Lovell. I made that same observation last night. He had some bad give-a-ways tonight as well and gets caught trying to carry the puck too much at times.

Blake, I thought that the K's hit much more tonight than last night. When they play physical, they win more often than not.

I also think they showed moments when they were more physical, but it wasn't a constant effort. It was still good to see though.

The big difference? Quad City didn't trade for Logan and start him in goal tonight.

During the first period Boucher kept us in the game with a shot imbalance favoring Quad City. Throughout the game lady luck was much more kind to us than Friday. It was a fairly consistent performance by the Komets, but not an overpowering one.

Am I wrong or not... isn't Dayton's goalie's name Hogan and not Logan??? If I am wrong , sorry for the question. I was just going by what Point Streak says.

Great game tonight!! Bouch was really good tonight, defence was scary at times and seems like the offence was gettin closer to the net tonight.

Yes I am a Starenky fan but that said I am noticing that when Starenky is on the ice the whole team seams to play a better game not only that but it seems Starenky presents on the ice is having quite the effect on the apponents play. In other words throwing them off there game. So my question is why is Starenky not getting more ice time?
This is only my observation

Arty is really fun to watch when he has the puck ... i see him putting up big numbers. wouldnt suprise me at all if he led our team in goals

This was my first game since the second home game and what a difference. If this was an off night for them WOW. Passing was great, effort was good. A couple of lucky hits off the posts. Everything was going the K's way. Starenky is awesome he needs to stay. He's a spark plug. Artem didn't seem like he wanted to play tonight although he did get a goal. Could have been tired because of the three games in a row or that is just his style of play. Mele is snake bit about gettin the puck in the net. If he keeps working hard he'll get one. Good effort and a fun game. I don't think we need Bennefield back, but if his skatebite is what was causing his lack of production, it would be good to see him healthy.

I think Artem's demotion from first to third to second line throughout the course of the game may have effected his hustle.

You're correct Sharon, a mistake on my part.

I thought Artem's moves with the lines was just to fill in some gaps and not a demotion at all.

I'm thinking Chaulk's comments from the other night that some players havent yet commited to the "system" may apply to Apod...

Considering A-Pod is third in goals and points maybe the system needs to commit to him, or possibly that is what's happening with the move to a different line.

A true three line threat is a dream come true and about as hard to find, but with A-Pod on the third line it may be the plan..

And of course it could mean nothing more then shifting players on a temporary basis to capitalize on a weakness perceived in the QC system, or fill in, or just looking for the best combination. Doubt we'll ever know for sure...

Leo lead the team in goals for a long time and all that got him was a lot of crap from bloggers. I don't see how being 3rd in goals is suddenly going to have anyone falling all over themselves.
