Tailing the Komets

Direct from Eddie

His wife had surgery on Friday, not Monday, and she's still recovering. He also has a slight groin pull.

``I have to get home and take care of her.'' he said. ``Fort Wayne is a first-class organization all the way around. I think they are going to give Rockford a good run for their money. Obviously it's my wife and I have to take care of my family first. If I wanted to go anywhere it would be there.''

Did you ask him if he made a verbal commitment to the Frankes and then changed his mind?

No. Does it really matter? No.

Hey, if you don't care that you may have been mislead then why should I. Fair enough.

I for one would want to stay with my wife. IMO Campbell got picked up in the waiver, told his wife and his wife asked him to stay with her as she recovers and since he's got an injury. I have absolutly no problem with this. Family comes first.

no doubt...

I to am suffering from a groin injury. I've had this injury for a week and it still hurts..i can sympathize with him..and like greg said..family comes first

How about this....dont tell us about anymore "potential" signings, aquisitions, waiver pick-ups etc... until they are actually in town, signed, and have a K's sweater stitched to thier back..... I understand all about injuries, family, etc... but this still sucks. Now instead of being "active" in the waiver draft, we end up with nothin. Not blaming the Frankes, media, or anybody else and I still think this team can do very well in the playoffs if they play intense hockey. Sorry, its just frustrating to me personally when I get my hopes up about a player then the next day get punched in the head....

Right, then everyone here would be screaming because I didn't cover something. If you're getting that wrapped up in a hockey team... There's more to life. Enjoy it.

Playoffs Blake, sorry if I get into the K's and player movement. Cambell would have helped in a series most are sayin will be physical. And if no one else is upset with all the "almost" signings we've had this year I'll eat my hat. And if you notice I wasnt blaming the coverage of the K's by YOU or any other media people, I was just sayin its frustrating...

I understand. I was hoping Eddie would show up too just because he's a great guy. I respect your passion JR. Just save it for the games! LOL

And Jungle Monkey, I prefer to think the best of people. Here's another question? What possible benefit was it to them to lie in this situation? How in any way would that have helped them? Or him? Did they sell more tickets? No. Did they disrupt the locker room? No. There was no purpose.

Do you think they like having this egg on their face? There was no benefit to either side to lie, unless they were thinking ``Hey, we can screw with Jungle Monkey's head and really starting something here.'' LOL. No, I don't believe they did that, either.

Good night all. Two days to the playoffs!!!!!!!

PS if you haven't seen a game at Rockford, it's a fun place to watch a game. Their fans are really into it, especially after goals. It's an old-style part with lots of character and characters.

By the way, besides being a big K's fan I have 12 horses on ten acres that I help my wife train and ride, I play co-ed softball, help out with my son's cub scout troop, go camping as much as possible, have traveled most of the world besides europe, go to my oldest daughters recitals, and will probably help out with my youngest daughters activities as soon as she decides what she wants to do.... I enjoy my life very much thank you.....

Go get him JR....got your back on this one...another example of the Franke spin machine this year....mistake after mistake after mistake....and no one is allowed to say a word edgewise or some one will question your life...that is BS. We like Komet hockey...we are diehard fans, support the team through thick and thin....and then a stupid comment like "there is more to life, don't get so wrapped up in Komet Hockey" You want us to feel guilty for caring about this team....no way.

Well I live in a castle with 47 stray puppys that I found on the street that I'm nursing back to health along with my twenty-two kids that I help everynight with thier homework, discovering perpetual motion while making a car that runs on water. When we are not working, we are relaxing around a rousing fire singing songs from the old country with our friends. Other than that we paint water colors of wildlife to honor James Audubon, do rhythmical fitness, protest the plit of the Native Americans, and feed the homeless. We also try to fit in a little fun in our lives by visiting "Our Greatest Generation" in their assisted living homes. It warms our hearts!!!

The thing that ruffles our feathers the most is when we get our hopes up about a player comming to the Komets, only to be let down!!! What will I do with my life now??????

(Hope you have a sence of humor JR!)

GO KOMETS!!!!

Funny Hoss...hope you are kidding...JR had a point though.

This team is damn lucky to be where they are at this year with all the blunders that have occurred this season with personel decisions. An by the way...don't anyone question it...go along with everything that is fed to you by the orange and black spoon.

This is a prime example of why I don't like this late season draft. I mean, you play somewhere all season then you are supposed to pick up and move for a month (or less) for the playoffs. It doesn't make sense.

Why would someone like Campbell be available? I was shocked we got him at first, and when I seen the goons, gimps, and other crap being claimed I knew something was amiss. Now we know. Undisclosed injury, wife surgery, and Danury was probably well aware of this and probably some other things so they let him go. We took a shot, didn't pan out, but we certainly we didn't lose out on anything.

I too am disappointed because I think he would of been a great addition. But at the same time I don't blame the Franke's nor do I blame Campbell that things didn't work out.

If I am Frawley, I come back here pissed out to prove something to the Komets. I don't think he has been bad lately. He might just kick it up even more.

Look at the guys Danbury got rid of. There's some major talent and major money right there. That ought to tell the league something. Eddie wasn't sure why he got cut. My guess? They needed to trim a lot of payroll in a hurry.

Blake, why was the story false then, if not to "screw with my head"?

Janice
Thu, 04/20/2006 - 6:57am

My thought is...the Komets have great chemistry right now going into this playoff series, why screw that up?..I am glad that he didnt come and Frawley gets play. Go Komets!!!!

Greg
Thu, 04/20/2006 - 7:01am

Bottom line right now is we don't know why Danbury dumped a lot of talent.
Janice- Yes the K's have good chemistry, but Campbell is a pretty good guy and would have fit in well. It's just bad luck the Franke's didn't have more information.

Campbell > Frawley in a landslide just stirctly off what each would do to help the team. I like Frawley but one is a young forward who is developing and the other is a seasoned vet who has all the tools. What Campbell would do in his 20-25 minutes would mean more to what Frawley would do in his 6-8 minutes. It would of been an easy decision to make from a roster standpoint. On the flip side, the other name that was a possibility was Blake Stewart. I'd take Frawley over Stewart any day of the week so in that regard, I'm glad things happened how they happened. Frawley shouldn't feel shafted or unwanted. That is the nature of the business. Maybe Frawley will have some karma due like scoring a game winner in this series.

Where is this list of Danbury cuts?

JM, my point was the story might not have been false on Tuesday the way it ended up on Wednesday, that's all. I honestly think they thought he was coming and then things changed. My biggest point is that there was no benefit for them to lie.

Greg

I'm with you Blake, I can understand that with the info you had suggested that we got Eddie and then by the time the Frankes actually got to talk with him things changed. I don't believe either you ar the Frankes are at fault.

Jungle Monkey
Thu, 04/20/2006 - 12:18pm

I think the fact that he showed up on the Trashers playoff roster as an Asst. Coach tells me that the Frankes may have been BS'ed. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and move on. I never questioned Blake's credibility, I just think there is more than meets the eye.

joseph
Thu, 04/20/2006 - 12:22pm

Or maybe that was a typo. Someone just forgot to delete his name off as Asst coach. He was on Fort Wayne's roster.
